I recently moved and had to re set up my hdhr. I had a discontinued hdhr and couldn't get the hdhr app to find a tuner. I purchased a flex and have the same issue. My set up:
Antenna ->hdhr flex->deco axe5400 router.
I can see the hdhr in my router page with an assigned IP address, but when I run hdhr software I get " error no HD homerun tuners found. Please check that your HD home run tuner and this device are both connected to your local network"
behind that I see
version 20240830k,
using async platform API,
probing one device (s)
109631e8hd home run flex,
found 1 device,
109631e8hd home run flex Duo.
My only option out of this error are:
RETRY
EXIT
I get this same error with the hdhr software on my Smart LG Google TV, my pixel 8, and my Windows 10 laptop
I have rebooted the router, rebooted the hdhr, rebooted the television, rebooted the phone, plugged and unplugged all devices, including the modem. I am at a loss. Please assist
Unable to find tuner
Re: Unable to find tuner
I am experiencing the same problem w/ an HDHomeRun Dual. Were you able to resolve yet? If not, can anyone please help?

Re: Unable to find tuner
Nope, still hoping, I did put in a support ticket though.
Re: Unable to find tuner
Can you please restart the app - if it picks up the UI update it should give you a better error message.
The symptom suggests the HDHomeRun is unable to communicate with our TV guide servers.

Re: Unable to find tuner
Same problem here for at least the past month. Was working fine up until then. No changes to router. Sometimes it works fine in Windows but on Android and Firesticks it does not find the tuner. Sometimes if I keep hitting the retry button multiple times it will find the tuner. Totally lost as to why it suddenly will not find tuner. I believe it's a software or firmware problem but SD has no answer. Running ver. 20240903 on Flex 4k

restarted app on computer, phone and TV, retried to connect, same error. Uninstalled/reinstalled app from computer/phone/tv. Retried to connect, same error.

Re: Unable to find tuner
If it is that the hdhomerun fails to connect to the guide servers I believe you should see such as web client errors in the device's log (available through its Web pages which most can get from http://hdhomerun.local but I prefer using the ip of the device
Also note that the flex typically communicates with the app via ipv6 if the app sees it that way... i have seen discovery work but I have seen some networks and devices not allow such connections after that discovery. One of my nas's I had to disable ipv6 completely and my phones if vpn software is installed I have to either set the app to not use the vpn or else it only communicated with ipv4 only devices on the lan (the vpn sent all ipv6 out the vpn).

Re: Unable to find tuner
With the help of the astute ticket desk I was able to resolve the issue. Turns out to be a hardward issue not a software issue.
I was able to get into the HDHR by IP but not by app or localHDHR. Then I was able to scan for channels, but found none. I checked the antenna and the coax cable was loose. After tightening the cable I was able to scan for channels via IP, found 17 channels, now the app works. Hope this helps someone else. Cheers!

Re: Unable to find tuner
After extensive searching other forums another user suggested changing a setting in my router. What worked for me was to disable UPnP. Instantly corrected the problem. Don't know if my router is going bad but that setting solved the problem I've had for over a month. So far been up for 5 days and running better than ever.
Re: Unable to find tuner
I have the same issue on a new Fire TV Max V2 stick. App works on everything except I get this error on the FireTV Stick. Everything is on the same network as well. Im still working on figuring it out. Also the HDHomerun app on the computer loads, but when I try to watch something, the app crashes and closes.
Disabling UPNP on the router had no effect.

Re: Unable to find tuner
Same exact problem here. None of the suggestions worked for me. Very disappointing to be unable to use this thing without having to troubleshoot and contact tech support. More like a pop fly out than a home run!
Re: Unable to find tuner
Your HDHomeRun is not showing a channel lineup. Go to http://hdhomerun.local , click on "Channel lineup" then "Detect Channels". It should then start working.
Re: Unable to find tuner
Yep, thanks. I also got a reply from Support saying the same thing. Too bad that step was not included with the printed instructions that came with the device. But I'm a happy camper now; works great!
Re: Unable to find tuner
Normally the app will prompt for a channel scan if there are no listed channels, but there's a UI bug for that at the moment.
