Scribe Quatro no longer working correctly

I have a customer's Scribe that has been acting oddly for over six months. They just now notified me of the issue. They had been recording one show nightly.
But they were using a Roku Stick and subsequently experienced the No volume issue. So they gave up and purchased YouTube Live TV.

I came out with an onn.Device to replace their Roku Stick and found that the HDHomeRun is Fecked up.

I have turned on the "Send diagnostic information" on the device.

Symptoms

• When Performing a "channel scan" with the HDHomeRun Setup windows software, the "Channel Scan" results in an incorrect number of channels found (43-48). It should only be (32-38) and the discovery completes way too fast. It also only displays 9 channels in the resulting "Channel Editor" listing.
  
  When the HDHomeRun App is run, it displays "Record your favorite shows with HDHomeRun DVR".
  Discovers the device but the initial Device Scan has two entries for this same ID.
  On opening the Settings/Devices
  
  First entry (no filesystem) and the second entry shows ("check Mark").
  By selecting the one with a check mark, I get a video window pop up but with the error message " Unable to play channel: Protocol error". I can select one of the other nine channels but then I get this error "Unable to play channel: Communication error"

Has the HD died? Or something else going on? If it is the HD, I can easily install a new HD for them. If it's the Scribe then ...??

When navigating to the Live, Recorded, Discover, Tasks page the Recorded Tab shows "Your HDHomeRun DVR wasn't found"

It looks like the drive has failed, and something about how it failed is causing a reboot and that is resulting in the other odd behaviors. At a guess, the drive might be drawing an excessive amount of power trying to spin up, which trips the protection in the power supply and causes it to reboot.

Thanks, I'll order a replacement 2.5" drive, replace and give it a reformat.
I'll let you know when I have it back up with the new drive.

I have replaced the 1TB drive with a SSD 256GB drive. The customer does not record anything other than the 6pm News, nightly. So that will be sufficient.
I have accessed the config. All looks good
Performed a channel scan !
And Created a recording.
I have turned the Send diags on again.

Now I just need to get this off of my network and back on my customers network.
Will I need to do anything to reconnect their DVR/Guide license when I get it back on their network?

There probably wouldn't be a DVR account for a SCRIBE user, and I'm not seeing one under that ID. Once you disconnect the SCRIBE, if you open the app and it pops up and it says the device is missing, just select the trash can to remove it from your account.
