Android TV 12 Round App Icons

Hoping to see an update for the new Android TV 12 round app icon. Don't want the best app in the world to look cheap and sideloaded from an old version....lol.

Add added round icons to the HDHomeRun app some time ago. Verified on Android 14.

TBH, I don't like the new Google TV rounded icon look. Out of all my Android TV and Google TV boxes, only one running Google TV 11 got update to this new look.

As for HDHR app icon, the one on my Android 14 phone looks right but the one on my Google TV looks like the screenshot posted above and does not look right.

Thanks for posting pic for Nickk to see. I'm using an Onn Google TV 4K, running Android TV 12 and my icon looks the same as the posted pic, white around the edges. Best $20 streamer made, migrated to them from a house full of FireSticks.

To be clear, the icons may look correct on a Phone, but not a TV.

I don't like the new round icons either.

Still waiting for update to the latest Android TV in production, Android TV 12. There is no Android TV 14 yet, Android TV 13 was skipped by Google.

Android 14 is a phone OS.

This is primarily a TV app, not a phone app.

Hey Nickk, any idea when this update might hit the Google Play Store (or whatever they call it now)? Didn't think Google took as long as Apple to release updates to the store.

I guess this icon update isn't coming.......maybe one day. Guess us Android TV 12 users will have to settle for a sideloaded looking app from 10 years ago.

It's fixed in our internal codebase, but there are other items that are targeted for the next release that are still being worked on.
