DVR on Synology NAS not seen by HDHomeRun tuner?

Post by Zone99 »

I'm going to tack on to this thread if that's OK. I'm also one of those people who started with the old DVR installation. One thing I like about the HDHomeRun devices is they are 'fire and forget'. I never have to bother with it unless something goes seriously wrong.

I also have a Synology NAS where I used to go into the HDHomeRun setup and click on the Synology NAS, log in and so on to get the DVR to work correctly. Quite a pain after power outages and I also changed my SSH port and there doesn't seem to be a way to change that so I get errors when I recently tried that method. I think I saw some command line options I have yet to try. But maybe I don't have to?

On that note, I installed the HDHomerun SPK and I don't record much but noticed recently that there are subdirectories for things I recorded a while ago that do NOT show up in the HDHomeRun DVR interface.

The hdhomerun.conf file shows: RecordPath=/volume1/HDHomeRun/

And when starting up, the log shows:

HDHomeRun RECORD 20231214 Linux ECEEF938-72F6-4E5C-B37E-EAC7099E35B5
20240307-13:08:00 System: file limit = 4096
20240307-13:08:00 Recording: RecordPath[0] = '/volume1/HDHomeRun/'
20240307-13:08:00 Recording: RecordPath /volume1/HDHomeRun/ = btrfs

And it discovers those directories:

20240307-13:08:00 Recorded: directory /volume1/HDHomeRun/ with 3 subdirs and 0 recordings
20240307-13:08:00 Recorded: directory /volume1/HDHomeRun/The Flash/ with 0 subdirs and 0 recordings
20240307-13:08:00 Recorded: directory /volume1/HDHomeRun/Movies/ with 0 subdirs and 0 recordings
20240307-13:08:00 Recorded: directory /volume1/HDHomeRun/#recycle/ with 1 subdirs and 0 recordings
20240307-13:08:00 Recorded: directory /volume1/HDHomeRun/#recycle/Movies/ with 0 subdirs and 0 recordings

What am I missing here?

I'm setting up test recordings to see what happens but did the change of SSH port cause a problem? Does it have to be port 22?

Thanks!

Topic split.

Did you go through the steps at viewtopic.php?p=309572#p309572 to migrate from the old SPK to the new SPK?
