Ability to skip ahead while watching in-progress recording
While playing a recording that is still in the process of being recorded, I would like the ability to skip ahead. For example, an NFL game is half over (the recording is still in progress) and I would like to start watching it and skip through commercials. I had this feature with Dish TV DVR and was disappointed to discover I can't do this with HD HomeRun (I'm on the latest version as of this posting). Thanks.

what client as most already allow you to do that and the ones that don't it is usually a problem with the client device itself (i.e. an lg tv running the app rather than using an android tv device hooked to that tv)

Your problem is using lg tv as client... the internal lg player the app for the tv must use has that issue for on progress recordings. Best to attach an android tv device particularly one that supports ac4 if atsc 3 support is needed so it won't need to use the online transcoding service (the latest 3rd gen firetv cube will also work but won't support drm protected channels (at least with cable).

Fire cube gen 3 did indeed fix the skip ahead issue. DRM is a bit of a concern for a future-proof solution -- I assume others feel the same unless there's a solution I'm missing.
Thank you.
