New Windows 7

Post by Rickt1962 »

Okay just built a New PC with Windows 7 ultimate and downloaded HDhomerun Prime since I have another PC working with Windows 7 recording 6 shows at once with 2 boxes WMC works great on the old system.

But the new system will not scan in HDhomerun on WMC for channels I already have the cable ready app installed on WMC but can't seem to get the channels to scan in.

All I see is Windows 10 on the download area what am I missing ?

For cablecard there is nothing to scan as the scan is to add analog ntsc and clear qam (prime never supported analog but wmc still tries) as it simply used the guide data for the zipcode/provider you entered for the channel list but since that was shut down you need to use something like epg123 and schedules direct (though I believe if you have sd's dvr service it can use SiliconDust's xml data. I suggest following the instructions at epg123 (I forget if they need a scan on the device first (from device's webpage) to get some form of channel list to map channels). Also for 6 tuners do not forget to enable such... their system never worked for me as I originally had another tool do it and often messed both up.

My other system has epg123 and the subscription has been renewed and working. But didn't know I have to have that installed on the new one first.

And yes to get all 6 tuners to work on WMC you need Tunersalad which I paid for....LOL and now it has FREE of course couple of months after I paid for it. Same goes for TV channel logos
