hi rik,

first of all, thank you so much for your work on this!
it is truly appreciated.

qnap is constantly turning off my qpkg for lack of a valid certificate.
on qts5, i do not see the settings icon when in the app center so i can't follow the instructions to change the setting to permit installation without a valid certificate.
is there another way to edit the settings for the app center directly, since they don't want to let me see the settings icon?

any suggestions?

fyi............instead of 5 icons across the upper right, my app center only shows icons for 1) manual install and 2) 3 vertical dots

Hi

First many thanks to the efforts creating this awesome QNAP package. I have been using your qpkg for years now with no issues. For some reason recently it no longer records. Looking at the web UI I see that the HDHomeRun RECORD has disappeared from the discovered device section, I only see my hardware. Any ideas how I should troubleshoot?

Thanks so much for your help!

Seems many are hitting issues where an update requires you to reset the allow unsigned apps to run in the app center and security counsellor apps

Quick check is always check if engine is running. Look at status bar at bottom of dvr manager, and log entries. If u don't have a log for today/tomorrow (because of it time) that's a dead give away that the engine is not running and that's either down to permissions or the app center check. If it ran then stopped is likely the security scan killed it.

I no longer have a running qnap. And all the live simulators are for older qts. Thus can't confirm where to enable the right options if app center has changed (per @cat6man)

thanks for all your work rik!

for now, i'm going to put the dvr on my linux machine that runs my sageTV server.
if a qnap solution comes up, i'll follow up but i've got a workaround for now.

I’ve been very happy with the container (container station) that @demonrik has put together. I can’t remember where he put the migration instructions though…

update: the latest QNAP firmware upgrade brought back my missing 'settings' icon and i was able to go an set the permission to install the dvr despite the certificate issue.
it has now been running fine for a few days and the qnap has not tried to shut it down again.
happy camper here again

Good to know! I’m still gonna stick with the docker container though as it’s more portable.

Hi demonrik

Thanks so much for your help, and of course for creating the container. I was able to follow your instructions and install the container with no errors (log below). However I can't reach the UI. I tried to assign it a few different ports, but I still can't pull it up using the host address (i.e. 192.168.0.1:32001). I do see that it is upset that it can't find /HDHomeRunDVR/data/hdhomerun_record and entered FATAL state. Any ideas what I am doing wrong? Thanks for your help!

Which qnap model?
Some strange things in your logs. Not sure why. Looks like the shell in the container is not behaving right. Will take some investigating.

fix inbound.
For future can you post issues with the container over on it's thread viewtopic.php?t=73757

Sorry I am such a noob, how would I fix inbound?

I have a TS-677 running container station 2.6.2.574 on QTS 5.0.1.2194. I upgraded the processor to a Ryzen 1700 but it's using the native driver for it.

Thanks again man!

He wasn't telling you to fix anything but that he would be providing a fix shortly (the fix itself is (coming) inbound) and has already posted such in the thread mentioned as that is the thread for when running a container.

Hi All,

I was able to get this QPKG to work again. Thank you everyone for your help!

I am still having issues with recording live tv. When I hit the recording control while watching live TV, I can't find the recording anywhere. It doesn't make a folder for the show in the recording folder and it can't be found in the live TV folder. Don't know if this is related, but I noticed is there is a fault.log that has been generated. Looking at contents of the log below it is not very descriptive. Does anyone know what the issue might be?
