I've tried such on 4 different android devices and for me early access off brings up slice by default at start of app, early access on brings up grid by default at start of app regardless of "setting" of slice guide including on onn with normal quit. I did not try force stop on onn but did on other android devices with no change (onn is a pain for me to get to on sundays) but why are you forcing such stop? Also how are you bringing up the overlay on live as that also may have something to do with it.

On windows 10, at least for me, it maintains setting either way. For me ui is indeed 922c

What UI version is reported on the Android app that is defaulting to grid?

The version I posted above. It only defaults back to the grid after a forced-stop/restart. A normal app stop (home button) keeps the previous setting when restarting the app. So this wouldn't normally be a problem if I didn't HAVE to force-stop the app after getting the stack-trace, or whatever you call the black screen with the column of text from top to bottom of the screen.

Nikk, you guys are killing me slowly. I figured by posting this, I was giving feedback that I like the Newer Interface guide. It does have some bugs, such as the pops up for the record, watch now not available 100% of the time, etc... these need to be reviewed, but it was a step in the right direction for me. SD changed this app now to shut the new guide off and return to the Slice Guide each time the app is closed. Now I am stuck resetting the app setting each time I reopen it, and I have to close it many times as SD has not fixed the main problem of Freezing on the Nvidea Sheild. This is becoming very frustrating. Not only am I supposed to restart after each freeze, but now, I also need to change the Guide interface each time. I am very frustrated, these are my main problems with the current cable card situation and apps.

1) Nvidia Sheild freezing. Why can't the video Quality be set anymore? This was a problem in the past on all my devices, and you fixed it by returning that setting.
2) Losing channels on my cable cards using Optimum.
3) You made the one change I liked into a problem. Why can't the app remember my choice and stop resetting it? As I mentioned, the Slice Guide is better on touch screens, but the normal guide is simpler and easier to read.

The first problem (Nvidea Shield Freeze) was why I was asked to use the beta, and I did, but it did not fix the Nvidea freeze. I saw the guide change show up and figured it was because it is beta. I am unsure how my comment got taken as some people don't like the guide, and now I cannot set the guide I want (the grid guide) to come up every time. Please help sort some of these problems out. Thanks

A normal app stop (home button) keeps the previous setting when restarting the app. So this wouldn't normally be a problem if I didn't HAVE to force-stop the app after getting the stack-trace, or whatever you call the black screen with the column of text from top to bottom of the screen.
Here's what the top line of the stack-trace error screen says on my Onn device:

TypeError: Cannot read properties of undefined (reading 'StartTime')

And I got this error, with it set to slice guide and early access turned off, when I used the up-arrow to bring up the slice so I could change channels.

The slice guide also keeps turning itself off on my Onn Android TV device. I'm also getting the stack dump (black screen with numbers/letters in a column down the screen) occasionally on both the Onn and Win10. After I get the stack dump, on the Onn, I have to force-stop the app to get it to come back up to usable again. On Win10, I just have to quit the app and restart it. It seems to be happening mostly when I use the up/down arrows on the Onn, and on Win10, when I click in the middle of the screen to bring up the slice. But it's not reliably repeatable.

I am seeing the same stack dump on Windows 10 every so often.

Also, the Slice Guide seems to be displaying shows an hour earlier than the current time. I have to scroll in to find what is currently playing and then back out to select the channel.

So far, the new version of the UI, 20220926c, is looking good in Android TV and Win10. Thank you.

Ooops. I just got the same stack-trace and error message on my Onn device when using the arrow-up to bring up the slice so I could change channels. Had to force-stop the app and restart it.

Also, in Win10 (and possibly in Android TV as well), there's still something not quite right with the timeline on the bottom overlay. If I'm watching Live TV then pause it until after the paused program's end time, then resume from pause, the timeline shows the current program's start and stop times at each end, but the current time marker seems to jump back and forth between the current time and the time of the paused program that is currently playing.

What was the message?

I just got the same error in Win10 when I clicked the mouse in the middle of the live TV window after it had been playing live TV for a number of hours.
