Has something changed with signals since May 2021 that would make an HDHOMERUN from 2008 stop working?

Reception, channel detection, network issues, CableCARD setup, etc.

I've got an old HD Homerun Device (firmware 20081231) that was able to pick up signals until about May. Then it stopped. Really just noticed now because shows are starting up again. Devices show up on the HDHomerun Config app as 1015533C-0 and -1.

For my best channel (us-bcast 21) Signal Strength bounces between 87 and 100%. Signal quality 0-44%. Symbol Quality never rises above 0%. Can't get it to show anything VLC. Physical channel bounces between auto:21 and 8vsb:21.

This is for the Baltimore, MD area.

Hardware finally kick the bucket? Or is there something else I can do to revive it?

Thanks!

1015 - yes, that has to be around 2008.

First thing to try is to replace the power adapter. Anything 5V will work (1A or more).

Hey Nick,

Sorry it took me a while to get to this. Looks like you were right! I replaced with an old D-Link 5V 2A power adapter and now I can actually get 100% symbol quality on the channels I can receive on the same TV at that coax port.

Thanks so much! Does this forum support marking threads as solved? I'll take a look on my own to see, but if you don't see this marked as solved, please let me know in a reply how to do it.

Thanks again!!!

Wow! That worked incredibly. I went from 24 channels that would barely ever play to 61 channels that all play perfectly, just by replacing the power adapter. I used one from an old Roku XS that's sitting in a box waiting to get recycled.
