Channel 5003, 5004, 5005

Post by vince48 »

Greetings,
When i scan a tower that supports Visalia-Bakersfield area, i see 3 stations that have channel numbers 5003, 5004 and 5005. What are these stations? Or is thi s some malfunction of my Homerun 4K tuner. I'm in the Visalia, CA area

Whenever you see a 5000 numbered channel, those are when it found a station/stream but couldn't get the virtual channel number. They should be considered random thus not usable by the dvr as another device may have them numbered differently. Most common for ota would probably be from a weak station but occasionally may be some misconfiguration on the stations part. If you go to the lineup page and change the url to .json rather than .html and add ?tuning to the end (i.e. http://<ip-of-tuner>/lineup.json?tuning ) you can see the frequencies and program numbers to get a better idea of what they might be.
