Hide Detected Channels

Post by JCBond »

In my area, there are literally hundreds of TV channels. Most of which I do not care to even have on my list. When setting up my HomeRun Flex 4K I did the detection of channels, so it lists all the channels in my area. Is there a way to DELETE/Hide all the channels I am not interested in?

On the device's lineup page click the empty star to fill it gold (yellow) to mark it as a favorite... click that gold star to disable (X), click disable to set it back to being regularly enabled again

Wow, so simple. I had pressed on the star to select favorites. Never thought to hit it again to disable the channel.

Thank you

Favorites really doesn't do anything with SD's software other than which channel to use when a program comes on at the same time with the DVR. Other software and DLNA make use of favorites more like one would expect it to be.

Is there anyway to tell the homerun extend to itself to ignore certain channels? I have translators that are very weak and with my luck it always finds the week translator and I get a lot of bad pixelation. I use the tuner with Plex and channels app iOS

If they have the same virtual channel number, then no, not currently.

One option that might not work in all cases is to install an attenuator that reduces the weak signals enough that they can't be recognized by the HDHR but the stronger ones still can be. Then do a scan and remove the attenuator (unless the strong ones are still strong enough to leave it in place). I too have a weak translator with the same virtual channels as the original, and I have a variable attenuator permanently installed but set to minimum attenuation except when rescanning.

I also use a recording program, CW_EPG, that lets me see the RF channels in its setup and disable recording on any channels I don't want.
