Content Protection Error.. Ticket #139433
Re: Content Protection Error.. Ticket #139433
Does it only happen when you switch channels? If you waited long enough, they will catch up and play normally?
Re: Content Protection Error.. Ticket #139433
Hello,
It seems like the issue is with the player. Even my recorded shows in DVR are freezing right after I start playing.
It plays for 1-2 seconds, and then audio/video freezes.

Re: Content Protection Error.. Ticket #139433
Recorded or Live, they all go through DVR first. You should turn on the diagnostics in the app and ask SD for help.
Re: Content Protection Error.. Ticket #139433
Yes, I opened up ticket #140701. There is no freeze when I open the channel in VLC.
Re: Content Protection Error.. Ticket #139433
VLC does not use DVR engine either. Any non-DRM channel played through HDHR app will always be served by DVR engine if one is available. So, if something went wrong on DVR side, you will see it in HDHR app for Live TV as well.
Re: Content Protection Error.. Ticket #139433
I disabled DVR and I am still running into the same issue of the freeze.
Re: Content Protection Error.. Ticket #139433
Hello,
Any update on ticket number #140701. I still can't figure out what is causing a freeze in-app, but VLC works fine.
Edit: I uninstalled MPEG2 Codec from the windows 10 store, and the issue (freeze) seems to be resolved, but DRM channels don't work. There seems to be a bug with MPEG2 Codec and Windows app.
Thanks

Any one else having same issue with the codec and windows app?
Re: Content Protection Error.. Ticket #139433
When MPEG2 extension installed the video decode is handled by the GPU. Make sure you have the latest drivers installed from the AMD/Intel/Nvidia website for your GPU.

Re: Content Protection Error.. Ticket #139433
I do have the latest drivers. Now I am getting the following error:
"HDCP required to display protected content."
My Nvidia control panel says HDCP is supported.

Re: Content Protection Error.. Ticket #139433
Do you have multiple display attached? And if so, are they in duplicate mode or extended mode?
Re: Content Protection Error.. Ticket #139433
They are in extended mode. I have 3 display.
Re: Content Protection Error.. Ticket #139433
Good. Does the one runs HDHR app running standard video resolution? If it is anything close to 4K, does your video card support HDCP 2.2 or later? I'm just wondering there must be something that breaks HDCP.
Re: Content Protection Error.. Ticket #139433
2 of them are 4k and 1 is 2k. Really odd that it does that it seems to be only happen on HD channels and all monitors. They are hooked to nivida 2080 via hdmi so 2.2 should be supported.
Re: Content Protection Error.. Ticket #139433
Are any of them run in GSync or freesync mode, or running at higher refresh rate mode? I heard that can cause HDCP problem as well.
