When is it coming available?
I doubt it will be any time soon I am sure the pandemic has put it on the back burner.
If pandemic is used as a excuse then the 4k OTA tuner wouldn't be coming out...but it is...this fall.

Given how long it's been since *anything* has been said about it from SD, I don't think it's unreasonable to at least get a confirmation that the product has *ongoing* activity.
It has ongoing activity.

Thanks for the update, but is it correct to assume from this, that CableLabs certification will be restarted since the final board design isn't yet submitted?

Extrapolating from that, we're at least 4-6 months from a release.

I'm just happy to have my expectations managed :-) (would love to be proven wrong!)

What is the best cablecard tuner out there? Do not include the prime 6 because it has been just a promise for 2 and 1/2 years and still a no show!!!

That’s an easy one, the Prime 3! :-)

Nickk, Can you add that to the sticky on top of thread so when this gets buried people see the update?

Nothing has been submitted to CableLabs yet. Any tweak to the hardware would restart the process and add a ton of cost. Everything has to be checked, triple checked, get all our ducks in a row, for a PRIME product.

Thank you. This is the content / insight I’m here for. Personally I’m happy you guys are still noodling on the product to get it as close to perfection as possible.

Hopefully once you do the submission you’d let us know?

I'm pretty sure that's the part they can't share, but I say that only based on comments made by others in the past.

SD et al: Would it be too much to ask what your rough ambitions are to release? 6-12 mos? more? Less?

The rough ambitions were to release at the end of 2018, and for various and sundry reasons that didn't happen. They've already said they aren't going to announce any other timeframe until they're at a point where they know they can hit it, so figure that the first real word you hear will be when they announce when preorders will start.
