Hi,
When I go to create the share folder HDHomeRunDVR I get the error: The operation failed. Please log in to DSM again and retry. I do this and still get the same error.
Any ideas? Thanks

Are you getting the error you are getting on your Synology when you create the share or when setting things up in the app interface?Impact-Players wrote: ↑Wed Jan 29, 2020 3:58 am Hi,

I need more context. What have you done so far and what are you trying to do.Impact-Players wrote: ↑Wed Jan 29, 2020 3:58 am Hi,

1. Synology SPK
2. No UI -> open_basedir
3. Error 500 when loading UI webpage
4. How to expose the default RecordPath as a share (or even just see it in FileStation) - Getting error when I try this step

So is just the making the folder available as a share.
Are you doing the share as an admin user?
Maybe try using the synoacltool to add the specific user - i.e. replace group:http with user:name
example:
Code: Select all
sudo synoacltool -add /volume1/HDHomeRunDVR user:name:allow:rwxpdDaARWc--:fd--

Re: Synology SPK for DVR Record Engine
Thank you for your time. Yes, I logged into DMS using admin. Tried the above, same issue. My Plex now has HDHomeRunDVR folder as no items, but the UI has a recording available to watch. Is there a way to uninstall so I can start fresh? Thanks againdemonrik wrote: ↑Wed Jan 29, 2020 5:06 pmLooks like your DVR is working - I see a log file at least.Impact-Players wrote: ↑Wed Jan 29, 2020 3:29 pmHi, I am not very tech savy, and I have included some screenshots which I hope work.

First, about 2 weeks ago, I upgraded to beta release 20200121beta1 and noticed that it removed all permissions for administrators to the HDHomeRunDVR folder, not sure why that happened. It only allows the http group, and that is set at a customized permission. Was this by design or it should not have mess with my permissions?
Second, today I went to my.homerun.com to check the channel count and noticed it was informing me that the DVR engine (the one mentioned above) and firmware were not up to date. I was able to upgrade the firmware but didn't see any new package for the Synology. Will an update be coming out shortly?
Thanks

Re: Synology SPK for DVR Record Engine
That should not have happened - I will check on my side to see if there is something that got screwed up. It should detect the folder already exists and not do anything to it as the assumption should be that you have it setup to your liking and it's working..NTC wrote: ↑Wed Feb 26, 2020 2:57 pm 2 Items

There was a new release of the software made just as I left for a trip. I swear SD are monitoring my tripit account and releasing engine updates when they see I'm not able to do package updates!!Second, today I went to my.homerun.com to check the channel count and noticed it was informing me that the DVR engine (the one mentioned above) and firmware were not up to date. I'm on my way home, and will do the new package builds for tomorrow.
You're welcomeThanks

Re: Synology SPK for DVR Record Engine
Hey Rik!
Thanks so much for all your work and support for this great tool.
I *just* finally got around to installing it on my synology (i've had the nas and hdhr for years... since 2012 or so) and I can't believe I didn't install this sooner.
That said, I have one problem:
While all my old recordings are still on the NAS, I can't see them or any recording history through the HDHR app now.
I'm not very Linux savvy, so I wonder if I did something wrong, or if it's possible to restore this history? I can't browse all my recordings now.
Thanks...

If you don't then likely your permissions for the folder aren't set right.
If you have a log, but it's not showing any recordings, we may have permissions issues on the files.
But first things first.
How did you switch to the SPK?
Did you change the RecordPath?
Or move the files in File station?
