Exiting slice guide (Nvidia Shield)

Post by presnell » Tue May 21, 2019 7:10 am

Previously if I brought up the slice guide while watching live TV I could hit the back button (or the exit button on the remote for my cec enabled TV) to make it disappear. Lately this throws me completely out of the app and back to the Shield's home screen. I definitely preferred the old behavior.

Yes. The old behavior is better. :)

We just pushed a new update. I don't think this will fix your issue, but you might give it a try now.

Update: It definitely doesn't. Replicated and added to the list. Thanks for the report!

See same behavior on my Firestick (current non-4k version).

I am not able to replicate this behavior on Firestick. Could you tell me the exact steps you take to make it close?

Acting differently today (This is the current Firestick Gen2). I've put a link to a video I made, to demonstrate, below...
https://www.dropbox.com/s/ttl27glvqqnu0 ... e.mp4?dl=0

Today, I can't exit the live slice guide at all (let alone jump out as it was doing previously). Also, the behavior is erratic when trying to arrow down channels on the guide. With a couple of time periods showing, it does all sorts of strange things. Arrowing up on the guide appears to work better, although all actions are very slow (old UI works fine and much faster). In the video, I had to hit HOME to get out, went back into the app and it picked up where I was and would then let me exit the app normally. Hope this helps. Thanks.

Yep, a fix was put in to prevent the crash. Unfortunately it makes it so you can't exit slice except using the exit button in the control bar. Work continues on this one.

Thanks, hope the new UI becomes usable at some point on fire stick.
