Can wtv files be converted for viewing in HDHR viewer?

Post by RayStone1998 » Sun Jul 07, 2019 10:53 am

Does anyone know how to configure an MCEBuddy profile for files recorded using Windows Media Center so that they will show up as if they were recorded using HDHR dvr?

I'm clueless when it comes to the HDHR .mpg or .wtv container formats. My reading says it "might" be possible to convert the files using MCEBuddy but I don't know what metadata HDHR requires, if its available in wtv files and pretty much don't even know how to begin. I'm trying to decommission 2 Win 7 machines and would prefer to view my several hundred hours of WMC programs in the HDHR viewer.

Would appreciate any help anyone can give.

If you own the MCEBUDDY paid ... there is a HDHomerun profile that will convert and add the metadata the only thing you will not see is the picture Icon but everything else like title description etc.. will show up.

Code: Select all

[HDHomeRun Unprocessed]
Description=Used to remove commercials and create a SiliconDust HDHomeRun compatible MPG file while keeping original video/audio quality and format. It does not remove black bars, resize the video, deinterlace or select audio language.
order=copy,ffmpeg
copy-ext=.ts
copy-audiodelay=skip
ffmpeg-general=-threads 0
ffmpeg-video=-vcodec copy -f mpegts -map 0:v -sn
ffmpeg-audio=-acodec copy -map 0:a
ffmpeg-audioac3=-acodec copy -map 0:a
ffmpeg-ext=.ts
ffmpeg-audiodelay=skip
FixedResolution=true
SkipCropping=true
PreConversionCommercialRemover=true
RenameExt=.mpg

Thanks. Is the file naming convention significant to how the files appear in the "Recorded" tab of the viewer?

You can rename the file to anything you want (must be .mpg) as the clients display the metadata embedded in the file.

MCEBUDDY renames the output to mpg

RenameExt=.mpg
