Re: Apple TV app (tvOS)
Channels has the guide, hdhomerun has the drm.....
Let's do something big, soon.
Apple TV app is needed, can't mirror drm to apple tv.

Re: Apple TV app (tvOS)
Maybe there is a reason why there isn't and AppleTV APP...... and I wont get into why I don't like Apple...... but all joking aside. it has been stated in the past when the New UI out (out of beta) that it opens up the possibility to work on other devices APPS because the new UI redesigned the backbone of the APP that these other devices support. So we (actually you because I wont) will see.damcck wrote: ↑Wed Jun 12, 2019 6:34 amI noticed on another discussion that roku was getting a app.

@nateb
Since the New UI appears to be stable for all platforms and is ready for a move from beta to production, is this an appropriate time to discuss SD’s plans for a tvOS app?

Re: Apple TV app (tvOS)
Are you asking for me to discuss the plans? If so, I'm afraid I don't have much info. The focus right now is pretty intense on the the SCRIBE/SERVIO launch and getting everything, including the UI, ready for that. And what remaining capacity we have is primarily dedicated to Roku and maintenance. I'd say once the launch is over and the dust settles, it may be a bit more clear what we can focus on next.DebbieFL33 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 26, 2019 12:23 am@nateb

I know this is the wrong thread but since you mentioned what the focus is, can you tell us if any time, effort and manpower is being spent on what most of us have been waiting for....DRM?nateb wrote: ↑Wed Jun 26, 2019 9:16 amAre you asking for me to discuss the plans? Re: Apple TV app (tvOS)
Well, at least there was a answer and different than I expected. And, end of 2019 was mentioned. I know that's not locked in but that's the first time ANY date at all was mentioned. I'm hanging on!mcewinter wrote: ↑Wed Jun 26, 2019 2:46 pmI asked...Beerman wrote: ↑Wed Jun 26, 2019 9:46 amI know this is the wrong thread but since you mentioned what the focus is, can you tell us if any time, effort and manpower is being spent on what most of us have been waiting for....DRM?nateb wrote: ↑Wed Jun 26, 2019 9:16 am

Re: Apple TV app (tvOS)
One would think Apple would have an api for drm, and they are big on not circumventing their api’s.
Re: Apple TV app (tvOS)
Please develop a tvOS app! I'm tired of not having the full HDHR experience on my ATV's. I've been waiting for one for four years...
Re: Apple TV app (tvOS)
I really don't understand what the delay is.
Re: Apple TV app (tvOS)
This has been answered multiple times. They have said before that they are working on getting the UI stable and out of beta first. My understanding is that tvOS does not allow web based UIs so it not be able to work with the existing UI and would have to written just for tvOS. All other apps are just a player with the same remote web based UI.
