So the HD app on my Shield TV (configured as DVR) stopped opening on Friday. Black screen forever. I rebooted the Shield, to no avail. Searched these forums and found this thread. Not the same error, exactly, but I thought I'd follow the directions listed above. (I would have resorted to this anyway).
It fixed the issue, but I lost all my recordings. Gone! Shouldn't there be a better way to get HD back up and running from random glitches without losing everything?
In the future, I'll be sure to move recordings to a "backup" folder on the harddrive and point Plex there.

Open the app and press play/pause 13 times (either double-tap the volume slider to get play/pause or use the "Android TV" app on a phone or tablet as a remote and use its play/pause button) and turn off the Early access to new features option.
