white bar at top of HDHomeRun app in Windows 10

Postby CouchPotatoDude » Tue Jan 01, 2019 6:52 pm

Forgive me if this is obvious but I cannot figure how to get rid of the white bar at the top of the HDHomeRun app in Windows 10. Can anyone tell me how to do this?

You trying to make it full screen you have to hit the 2 boxes at the bottom right.... to the left of the record button that will maximize it.

never mind, I just figured it out. For some reason, hitting the screen icon just gave an error earlier.

Speaking of white bar, how do you get it to open full screen so I don't always have to maximize it every time?

What the other 2 said.

Took me a bit to figure out that the maximize window leaves the white bar and the only way to get the app to full screen is to close it full screen.

Also if you just turn your tv off, the app will be non maximized when you turn your tv back on.

If you have a harmony or similar remote set it up to close the app, wait a sec, then turn off tv. You'll want the reverse to turn the TV on, but change the wait time to match the time it takes for your tv to turn on and handshake with your computer.

I don't use a TV, I just use my computer and monitor. Even when closing the app while in full screen mode it still doesn't open in full screen mode the next time I launch it.

Are you using the mouse to close the window? Use Alt-F4 to close the app.

Previously when I was using a computer for TV I reprogrammed my ehome remote so that the power button was alt+4.

Are you using the 2 squares at the bottom to maximize it then hit alt-f4 ?

yes. I hate the white bar, so I always maximize it using the 2 squares. I use my secondary monitor primarily for watching TV. I moved the app over to the primary monitor and Alt-F4 works on the primary monitor. I guess it just won't work using my secondary monitor.
