It's installed through the kodi ppa, it says it's Matrix, and won't load the Leia version of the plugin.

I guess I'll have to set up Ubuntu this evening :). 20.04, was it 32 or 64 bit?

Working fine on Kubuntu 20.04 for me. I haven't booted it in a long time so I had to update everything. :)

I'm setting up Ubuntu now, but I looked at the error message more closely, I think it's actually telling us the "<extension point="kodi.pvrclient"> element is missing or broken. I love you guys, but I'm going to watch Falcon and Winter Soldier first :)

In the meantime, if you open up the addons/pvr.hdhomerundvr/addon.xml file, the beginning of the file should look exactly like below. I downloaded the x86_64 zip and this is what I see too. More after Marvel ...

Code: Select all

Snap. That's the package I have.

I may try downgrading to Leia tomorrow and see if I can get that package working.

rdoac, I'm afraid I had no problems at all with Ubuntu 20.04, using both the provided instructions as well as Kodi's (https://kodi.wiki/view/HOW-TO:Install_Kodi_for_Linux). The only difference between the two sets is the addition of adding software-properties-common, but that didn't matter.

(Yeah, I forgot to set time zone, it was 10:18PM)

Perhaps you have a bad .zip file? Try md5sum or sha256sum against the file you downloaded, and make sure the hash(es) match these:

djp952@ubuntu:~$ md5sum zuki.pvr.hdhomerundvr-linux-x86_64-matrix-4.5.0.7745.zip

djp952@ubuntu:~$ sha256sum zuki.pvr.hdhomerundvr-linux-x86_64-matrix-4.5.0.7745.zip

MD5 checks out. Going to fully remove kodi. I think it's a mixture of old ubuntu and team xbmc's version.

It worked once I'd purged everything and redid it all.

What's the general consensus, are we trusting Matrix now or waiting until at least .1 or .2? I'm afraid of breaking all the things because of the upgrade and having a lot of trouble reverting because I use a shared database.

Matrix is still a little buggy but it's usable. It would probably be fine for you but I wouldn't put the family on it just yet. It crashes on me once in a while, maybe once every week or two. I left Leia alone on my HTPC and set up Matrix as a portable install. I switched my Shield and Chromecast to Matrix. I mostly use the HTPC for watching TV with Matrix but it's nice to know I have Leia to fall back on.

I never used MySQL before but I tried setting it up on my Tinkerboard to share the Matrix database on the HTPC and Android TV devices. Everything seemed to be working fine at first but I was having problems getting new items to appear in the library after doing a scan. I haven't done much troubleshooting so it might be something that I did wrong.

Haven't any real problems with it here, including the shared database. Two of my clients (OSMC, LibreELEC) are stuck on Leia while those distros catch up, but since the two databases I share (MyVideos, MyMusic) are a different version there isn't any overlap. The first Matrix install upgraded them just fine, and the old versions are left in place. I am looking forward to getting everything on Matrix so I can delete the old databases, though.

Perhaps have a look at what they've fixed and plan to fix for 19.1 before jumping, in case any of these are a concern: https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/milestone/141

Sorry. I am new to this (Kodi)

Where I can find the HDHomerun add-on to Kodi 19 (raspberry pi)?

I have a look into the Kodi repositories and the official one isn't there.

PS: I have discovered by now that the official Kodi addon was discontinued. Installed the one that was present on their repositories on the latest Libreelec test build of today and it doesn't work.

Nothing happens when I try to run it. Is there anyone here that was able to get this unofficial (without DVR) HDHomerun Kodi addon running on the latest Libreelec?

Please, let me know.
