HDHomerun Video AddOn for Kodi

Post by rdoac » Thu Aug 02, 2018 6:03 am

This seems to work well enough, except the list of recordings appears to have duplicate entries for every show? Am not sure what would happen if I delete one of them from here after watching it?

Maybe you have two record engines running?

There have also been cases that a single record engine can show up more than once if there are multiple paths to it (i.e multiple nics on the engine machine, and the client can see both). The engine should have a StorageID that many clients will use to flag that the engine is a "duplicate" (I don't think the official add-on does this, not sure on the unofficial add-on)

Code: Select all

hdhr 21328 1 1 Jul30 ? 01:08:30 /tmp/hdhomerun_record_x64 start
hdhr 27996 1 0 Jul30 ? 00:00:00 /bin/sh /usr/bin/hdhomerun_record foreground
hdhr 28002 27996 1 Jul30 ? 01:12:51 /tmp/hdhomerun_record_x64 foreground
Just one engine running. Incidentally, the Android app and hdhomerun pvr plugin do not have this issue. It's only the kodi official addon that it happens.

does it list it twice if you pull the json from my.hdhomerun.com/discover

It has been awhile since I have checked but at least at one time it did list it for every ip the engine has, but the regular my.hdhomerun.com site usually just would list one since the storage id's match and usually the second is not reachable by the browse (and some NAS's/PC's won't route that internal or "extra" IP to the connect to the internet but can still show up via broadcast discovery).

As I said, I don't believe the official addon ever got the logic added to recognize if the storage engine is the same one via multiple ip addresses. (it really hasn't been changed for years other than to change one url)

Looks like I did have two copies of the record engine running. I probably messed up when I created the systemd startup script.

I bet that is what caused my broken recording I wrote about in another thread.
