Live TV - no rewind
Due to disatisfaction with the video quality in the Mac HDHomeRun app, I’ve been trying out the HDHomeRun video add-on in Kodi. Video quality is markedly superior to the Mac app but I have one issue which is causing consternation: while watching live tv or chase playing a recording which is still recording, I’m unable to skip backward or rewind and the skip forward is limited to a 10 second skip. Is this normal or a limitation within Kodi? Or am I missing something? On a complete recording skip back/forward and ff/rew all work as expected.

the official add-on hasn't been updated to support using the engine for live tv... try the unofficial one.

From what I can see there doesn’t seem to be a Mac version of the unofficial version unless I’m missing something?

This is accurate. I'm working on it, I ordered a used Mac Mini which should be in my possession before Christmas, check back in January-ish, I expect it to take a little while to put together given that I haven't used an Apple product since playing Oregon Trail on an Apple II back in high school (he says dating himself). From what I can see there doesn’t seem to be a Mac version of the unofficial version unless I’m missing something?
There was no legal way I could find to develop for OSX without actually owning a Mac. I'm kind of a stickler for the legal stuff, so OSX is currently a non-starter. The end of that tunnel is now illuminated, it just won't happen overnight. Sorry

No worries. Hopefully the new release of the mac app that might be released later this week will show some significant improvements in video quality. Looking forward to seeing what you can do though.

I try to avoid cross-posting but if you are watching this thread but not the big one, I did come up with something for OSX -- I'd love to know how well it works ... or of course if it works at all:No worries. Some little sniggly bits to work out with the module and build process, but overall it seems pretty stable on Krypton on OSX 10.13.
Please use the big thread for feedback if you don't mind, I don't want to tangle up SiliconDust's forums with multiple threads. I am thrilled they allow us to do as much discussion about it as we do already on their dime
