nonDVR Channels app also works well with ATSC 3.0 on my iPad Air 2 (Model MH2P2LL/A) and my iPad Pro (9.7 inch Model MLQ32LL/A)

iPad 2018 (6th generation) and iPad 2017 (5th generation) are unusable for me with HDHomeRun app and the 100+ channels. No sound, and like someone else reported many channels are just jumpy video (like snapshots).

free Channels app indeed does well on same hardware, sound and video. Someone already mentioned that 124.1 video is "washed out" color. Using HDHomeRun on Win10 I notice that the ATSC 3.0 channels seem "delayed" from the equivalent 1.0 channels by varying times (seconds). I'm not talking about the several seconds after each channel change, but rather if 1.0 channels are "real time" then 3.0 channels are "real time+x seconds".

Can someone please post the Program Numbers for each stream on both WRBW and WESH?

Finally got Wesh back after months of it being gone. What is the advantage of now of getting a Flex. There isn't 4k content yet I'd there. Is the picture better on Wesh?

...
Stream #0:1[0x32]: Data: bin_data (AC-4 / 0x342D4341)
Stream #0:2[0x33]: Data: bin_data (AC-4 / 0x342D4341)
That's because FFmpeg doesn't have any support for AC-4, so it doesn't know that streams tagged as "AC-4" are audio content and instead lists them as random binary data streams.

Some 3rd party software can recognize the "AC-4" tag and at least pass the bitstream to an external AVR or TV capable of decoding AC-4, while VLC just ignores unrecognized binary data entirely.
Thank you, ended up finding a github repo that someone had a ac4 fix for the ffmpeg / ffplay

https://github.com/richardpl/FFmpeg/tree/ac4

compiled and ran, audio now works.

Did you just compile ffmpeg, or did you do ffmpeg, ffplay, and the libavcodec? And a followup, how does one compile? I'm also in the Orlando Area, and would like to switch over to the new channels to reduce bandwidth, thanks.

Correct, those two never appear on my FLEX 4K which receives the other six. Despite whatever press was released around six days ago about eight stations using 3.0

Based on the VLC codec screen, all stations are transmitting in 1080p as well.

FYI, engineering says situation I described is due to equipment failure they are working to resolve but do not have repair completion date.

So I'm in the Orlando market and want to know if the HDHomeRun Flex 4K ATSC 3.0 will work with appleTV 4k 32gb MQD22LL/A or if there is going to be AC4 audio issues as everyone is reporting? Mainly because w o o t has that appletv 4k for $106.

However, HDHR5-4K to iPad Pro (9.7-inch) no sound, snapshot video on RF11 channels WESH 102.1, WKCF 118.1 and WDSC 124.1.

Also, Apple TV 4K (A1832 -32 GB) sound ok, snapshot video on RF11 channels as above.

Firmware 20210624 Device 1081103E
snapshot video?

The MQD22LL/A lists Atmos in its specs, so it should be good for AC-4 audio.

satpro,

By snapshot video, I mean the Gumby claymation, stop action video of the 50’s. The tvOS (14.6 - 18L569) app gets 1 new frame every 2-3 seconds with the audio continuing normally.

The Channels for HDHomeRun is available for the Apple TV 4K for $24.99 but have not tried it.

The webOS app on the LGOLED55C8PUA (ver 05.30.15) works fine.

Has anyone been able to get a 4k resolution on the ATSC 3.0 channels? I tried with the Olympics and looks like WESH 102.1 is still sending a 1080 signal and not a 2160 signal. I verified resolution in the Channels app on Apple TV 4K by turning on the "stats".

During primetime 8pm, WESH is sending 4K to YouTubeTV and it is 2160.

Thanks.
