I have two Fire Stick 4K devices too... It was just weird that @nickk stated only the Apple devices.

PS: My TV is LG webOS SM8600AUA and I have a LG SN7R 5.1.2 (ATMOS, Meridian) sound bar.
I am curious how will it work.

My HDHomeRun on iPad 2018 (6th gen) does not play ATSC 3.0 audio at all. and some channels only show intermittent frames of video. Same channels play fine on HDHomeRun on Windows 10, and on "Channels" app on same iPad (and earlier 2017 5th gen iPad). Is there some way I should report that to someone? To be clear, play CBS live or recorded on Windows okay but same live or recorded on iPad has no sound, play NBC live or recorded on Windows okay but same live or recorded on iPad has no sound and intermittent frames of video. Current versions of everything, in Orlando just moments ago.

If you have an iOS device with a checkmark under "Dolby Atmos Playback" and you are having issues with audio, let us know and we will look into it: https://developer.dolby.com/platforms/a ... e-support/

Tell us your specific iPad model number, just to confirm: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201471

My iPad 2018 model is A1893 for the problems I described (no ATSC 3.0 audio in HDHomeRun app for same equipment which works okay with Channels app or on Windows 10 PC). After looking at the chart, instead of built-in speakers I tried plain corded headphones and they made no difference (got sound for ATSC 1.0 but not 3.0). Note: under iPad's Settings-Music-Audio there is no entry for Dolby Atmos. I do not subscribe to Apple Music, if that matters. iPadOS 14.6

I just purchased brand new iPad 10.2 9th generation (2021) hoping it would work with HDHomeRun on ATSC 3.0 audio.
Unfortunately it has the same exact problems I reported here and in the Orlando thread (months ago). No audio on any ATSC 3.0 channels, and "jumpy" video on some of the channel like NBC.
I submitted a capture of such channel to Nick quite awhile ago (from my Windows PC browser as requested, even though Windows PC's HDHomeRun has no problem with audio and is not jumpy).
P.S. I traded in my old 2018 & 2017 iPads so can no longer do any testing on those.

Unless it is a iPad PRO model which would allow internal speakers, I believe apple limits such to bluetooth headphones with spatial audio (such as airpods pro and max).

I will check with Nick, but I think as long as a given iPad is licensed for ATMOS/AC-4 then it should be okay. You might not get "full ATMOS" unless using spatial-supporting headphones, but instead downmixed to plain-jane stereo, or something like that. However, we will check to be certain.

My understanding is that it doesn't report such compatibility until spacial audio is enabled in the Bluetooth settings (not sure if such option is there when not connected to such headphones) as I did read that in somewhere but I could be wrong.
