So I am using Plex on Apple TV 4K. When I tune to an ATSC 3.0 channel, I get no audio, and the video is formatted strange (As it is also I'm using Windows. 1080P signal). However it's set up for Direct Play enabled. So Plex SHOULD be sending me the direct-from-tuner stream. But it seems to be Transcoding it first. Even though it says it isn't. Does anyone else have this issue, if so is there a fix since I'm in Direct mode?

Plex uses FFmpeg for its decoders, which doesn't support interlaced HEVC (hence the 1920x540p image instead of 1920x1080i) or AC-4 (so no audio)
Yeah, and they haven't resolved it yet, official thread here: https://forums.plex.tv/t/atsc3-0-broadc ... /647437/27
there is also more problems with plex that what you all are saying.it can scan 60 channels in the buffalo area but only give you 45 of them because it's guide won't allow you to get all the channels to work.they don't have a guide for the atsc 3 channels at all and the guide is incomplete for all the channels i receive in my area.so just use the hdhomerun and its $35 a year for recording and 14 day guide as it gives you every channel guide for every channel scanned
Switch to channels dvr. I have 2 appletv 4ks and it integrates awesome with atsc 3.0. The only thing that is a little problematic is comskip doesn't work all of the time for the hevc recordings. It's about 50%.

That's just what I've done. I got tired of the issues in Plex. So I moved to Channels App for my OTA DVR. I can now watch live, and currently recording. Even the 3.0 channels. So far.
