What I'm still shocked is that we're this far in and the audio is still wonky. Tried to watch the Chiefs vs Bills, center channel was coming out of the left speaker, every once in a while it would pop to the center and sound good and then it would immediately go back. The image quality was superb though.

If you can get me a test capture or recording I can take a look.

@jmcgeejr - Are you positive the center channel was engaged during the game and it wasn't stereo during the times it wasn't in the front left channel? If so, what devices are you using in that setup?

- This channel's stations had all 5.1 audio in the front left until recently. Not sure if it was the app or firmware update that changed it. It has been stereo on my PC and is stereo (or mono but on left and right front only) on my 2019 Shield and the Xbox though it displays 5.1 on my (non-Atmos) receiver.
- v104, v107 still fail to tune >50% of the time. Seemingly even worse on the Shield and Xbox than the PC. v151 (with the app/web page) tunes correctly almost every time. They also seem to have more stutters and problems than the Ch31 stations do. Not sure if that is broadcast or HDHR caused.

On related note, on my PC, Xbox One, 2019 Shield, and Samsung Note 9, Ch31 stations now correctly default to the 5.1 audio stream instead of SAP with the latest apps.

I'm not entirely sure tbh, this was via my 2019 shield hooked to my denon AVR, maybe it was going from 5.1 to stereo and the upmix was just moving it to center channel when it was hiccuping. Most of the time it was quiet and all voice was coming out of the left speaker, then pop and loud and coming out the center and then back to left.

Is it just me or is KIRO 107.1 in ATSC3.0 is showing only black frames and silent audio?

It's been like this for several hours already, though it was fine earlier today (around 11am).

It's happening on all devices I try to playback on. Here's what I'm getting from hdhomerun_config:

Not just you and not Ch24 as 104 and 151 are fine. Not getting a "can't tune" message. It is tuning but there is nothing there. Interesting.

I even recorded it and the audio and video streams are there with the right bandwidth, just silent and black. I suspect the source of their HEVC transcoder is down.

I am at the point of questioning my HDHomeRun 3.0 tuners. I am getting 3.0 signal strengths of 65% on both of our transmitters and near 100% from 1.0 transmitters presumably on the same tower. I am 50 miles north of Seattle with sufficient antenna for 1.0 and all the talk was the 3.0 would be easier than 1.0. Is there a way to validate receivers 0 and 1 other than they work fine with 1.0. If anyone knows about the transmitter strengths or a station engineer's number, that would help me.

You may need a higher SNR to get the ATSC 3.0 channels. It depends on the station's configuration. ATSC 3.0 tolerates multi path interference better but that doesn't necessarily make it easier to receive.

On my Xbox one and Nvidia Shield (2019) to a non-atmos receiver I still get 5.1 being reported but the audio is only front left and right. I'm not sure if it is playing as stereo or mono but either way it isn't playing as 5.1.
I've raised the issue and given samples a few times on this and it has improved from quiet all-front-left to normal volume level left & right but obviously it is still wrong (for me).
I'm assuming it is still broken for everyone but just wanted to see if someone with a Atmos receiver or other device was experiencing something different.

You may need a higher SNR to get the ATSC 3.0 channels. It depends on the station's configuration. ATSC 3.0 tolerates multi path interference better but that doesn't necessarily make it easier to receive.

3.0 is supposed to have a BETTER fringe signal than 1.0. I've certainly seen this to be true in the Nashville, TN DMA of which I live. It's alot better to pick up, or in some cases, it's the ONLY thing I can pick up of a said channel's signal is 3.0.

I don't have an atmos receiver but I'm experiencing the same thing with my Samsung TV straight into my AVR. 105.1 and 113.1 the 5.1 works as it should.
