Any word on ATSC 3.0 deployment for KCTS 9 or KSTW 11?

The transition to ATSC 3.0 is not mandatory, so not every station has plans to participate in a Lighthouse.

They're also VHF stations with some of the larger signals in the market, so if any of them were to convert to ATSC 3.0, most of the other stations in the market wouldn't be able to meet the 95% coverage requirement for their ATSC 1.0 simulcasts. Like if KCTS's RF 9 converted with their 59.3 mile contour, the only potential options for simulcast hosts would be KSTW's RF 11 and their 62.8 mile contour or KCPQ's RF 13 and their 75.9 mile contour, but both of those signals are already filled to capacity.

I've sent them emails but haven't heard back from either though I assume we won't see them anytime soon given Kyles insights. Somewhat of a reverse as for 1.0, KTCS was way, way ahead of the other stations for broadcasting in HD. Could only receive it on a PC with the one HDTV card that was out at the time. Mainly just loop of Mt Rainier video but it was amazing to actually see HD on my HDTV for the first time.
