We found a problem causing playback issues on a number of ATSC 3.0 channels.
Windows 10 / XBox One - please upgrade to 20201023 in the app store. Most ATSC 3.0 channels should play. We are tracking an audio issue which affects one channel in Phoenix.
Mac - ATSC 3.0 channels should play video after upgrading to 20201023. The audio will not work on most channels - we understand the problem and are working on it.
Android - the app didn't make the release window today. The current release has problems with ATSC 3.0 channels. A new release planned for Monday.
iOS - we are working on a new app release.
For the weekend we recommend using Windows 10, XBox One, or an Atmos capable LG TV for testing ATSC 3.0 channels.
We also recommend upgrading the firmware to 20201023 (latest).

Re: 23 Oct 2020
For the Portland, OR area channels the PC HDHomeRun App is now playing things correctly. It is even playing my recordings on the Servio.
Still not for the FireTV app, but it sounds like that needs to still receive an update.
After a bit further playing around, it looks like 12.1 isn't playing. It says no Video data. This is both before and after a rescan.

I think I'm upgraded to the latest firmware (20201023) and Windows app (20201023), but I'm still having problems with Pittsburgh stations. WTAE, WPNT, and WPGH all play for a bit and then freeze for like 2-3 seconds. After a few minutes, they just freeze completely.

Re: 23 Oct 2020
I loaded up the HDHomeRum app on our XBox One last night and watched the tuner status; I noticed that 12.1 would only tune via the ATSC 1.0 tuner.
Re: 23 Oct 2020
It now plays the video and audio for me in Portland on 10 as well, haven't checked my other options yet except win7. The audio still doesn't work in 7 but maybe it hasn't got all the updates being EOL.
I'll have to wander out and see how my Roku stuff and my Shield are doing now.
It even played a 4k test recording I made from PBS that it either refused to play before or locked up most times. Things are moving forward, thanks nickk

Re: 23 Oct 2020
ATSC 3.0 recordings made prior to the 20201022 firmware - if the channel plays after upgrading the firmware and app but the recording doesn't it is likely that the recording has a timestamp problem.
Recordings made with the 20201022 or later firmware won't have this problem.

Roku plays video, no audio, Shield the same but video is a rock solid lock. They also only show 720p or 1080p according to what the programs report. I don't know if that's a error or that's what they actually are playing but it looks like regular HD to me.
The Shield on the HD HomeRun ap even sees my recordings provided the pc they are on is awake. It played my test 4k capture smoothly, just no audio.

Re: 23 Oct 2020
The product name is a little confusing. ATSC 3.0 makes 4K broadcasts possible, but all free OTA broadcasts in the US are still HD, and that's not likely to change any time soon.Dartman wrote: ↑Sat Oct 24, 2020 12:35 pm Roku plays video, no audio, Shield the same but video is a rock solid lock. Yeah, they are at least 480p on the sub channels and 720p or 1080p on the mains. I just eventually want to get real 4k videos displayed when everything gets sorted out. My network is 1gig and hardwired with decent switches and a new 4k 65 inch TV.jakep82 wrote: ↑Sat Oct 24, 2020 1:17 pmThe product name is a little confusing. I have cable as well but haven't bothered to get a 4k box, besides they don't carry much 4k as it is and I pay enough as it is.
Re: 23 Oct 2020
Confirmed the Mac app behaves as expected in the Portland area, except it crashes after about 5-10s on an ATSC3 stream.
Re: 23 Oct 2020
The 20201023 Mac app shouldn't be crashing.
Can you please turn on "send diagnostic information" in the app settings menu then post back with the DeviceID of your HDHomeRun.

Re: 23 Oct 2020
Austin, TX - I just purchased and installed the unit yesterday. The Windows 10 app works reliably, the Xbox One app works reliably and the FireTV app is working reliably. The Roku App displays video (occasional choppiness), but no audio.
Currently the ATSC 3.0 stations appear to be offline (tuner on channel 31 where they were being transmitted shows 62% signal strength, but 0% signal quality and 0% symbol quality).

Re: 23 Oct 2020
Well, I'm in Portland and got the new HDHomeRun 20201023 app installed on my Windows 10 PC but I'm still not getting any audio on ATSC 3.0 stations. ATSC 1.0 stations have audio just fine though.

Device ID is 1080A984. I am running the latest Big Sur beta, so it's possible that might have something to do with it too.

The logs show it starting off ok then something goes wrong.hevaKmaI wrote: ↑Sun Oct 25, 2020 9:12 amDevice ID is 1080A984. I am running the latest Big Sur beta, so it's possible that might have something to do with it too.
