From what I understand, even 1080p broadcasts are only 1080i that are "upscaled" to progressive.

I don't expect to see 4K for another year at least...

I'm in Pahrump. I see what you guys in Las Vegas are seeing, basically, but on physical channel 15 instead of 29.

I have a Lenovo gaming laptop Legion Y920 with NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 graphics. This machine has Dolby Atmos, but it only works with the internal speakers or headphones. Once I figured that out, I can get some spurts of audio. After these few spurts, the video and audio lock up.

Thanks. That's working, even with my bluetooth speakers.

I've got my old 4US in use and it seems the apps pick that vs the 4K first (and it can't be removed it seems) so I haven't been able to test the new 4K model via the apps yet. Only direct tuning via URL

Anything new for Las Vegas? This thread has gotten a bit stale;
just received my new Quatro 4K and as others have stated
not seeing any 4K channels; the ones I do scan (8.1 13.1 33.1) are
all HD; I'm on the Edge for NBC and Fox as I'm in a poor spot in Anthem for
that tower to the north and east of me; Im getting good signal levels and
qualities using my Clearstream 4V from Antennas Direct for the other
channels however; signal quality is in the
90's for ABC and CBS and CW; I'm also on the latest firmware for my Quatro 4K
(20201030)
Thanx in advance

I have my unit disconnected from the network as I can't reliably test it until there is a way to choose which tuner to use and also what type of tuning (ATSC 1 vs 3). Right now I am waiting on the dev team to work on that before I bother reconnecting it and restarting testing.

Today there appears to be no programming on physical channel 15 in Pahrump. A rescan of the tuner finds the ATSC 1.0 signals instead.

Plan on Ordering my unit tomorrow. Has there been a improvement in audio video on the atsc 3.0 stations? We live on the south end of the strip and currently use a Antennas Direct ClearStream 2V TV Antenna, 60+ Mile Range, UHF/VHF, Multi-directional, Indoor, Attic, Outdoor, Mast w/Pivoting Base/Hardware/ Adjustable Clamp, Sealing Pads, 4K Ready, Black – C2-V-CJM inside the house. We currently have the hd homerun SiliconDust HDTC-2US-M HDHomeRun EXTEND.FREE Broadcast HDTV (2-Tuner), Black. If there is no improvement to signal why would I buy this currently. I’m super excited but not sure if I need better antenna 89183 zip code. We even thought about having the antenna man install a more powerful antenna with no interference from inside the house.

To be clear, you shouldn't buy this unless you're willing to futz with things and have other things not work. Don't get me wrong, I believe the tuner hardware is rock solid as is the firmware for the most part. But unless you have a viewing platform/software that is compatible with ATSC 3.0, you won't have need for this specific tuner.

Further, not all platforms that currently support ATSC 1.0 tv signals will support 3.0 (Roku comes to mind, since 3rd party developers are dependent on the Roku-provide video player). For hardware platforms that do support ATSC 3.0 (AC4 audio in particular but also HEVC video), then you may also have to wait for working software. For example, I suspect that Plex is a long way off to support ATSC 3.0 fully (audio is the issue), and even the SiliconDust software for Apple TV and iOS is still getting bugs ironed out.

And last but not least, while ATSC 3.0 is being billed as 4K video by the popular media, currently there is no 4K programming happening natively. This could change -- for example, maybe FOX will air the Super Bowl in 4K but who knows?

Thank you so much for your Advice, we rely on plex and fire tv for viewing. We love our hd homerun it simply works great and has saved us a ton of money. We do occasionally need to unplug the unit but usually that is after a router problem. We get great 100 percent signal strength from 3/5/8/13. The quality is usually our problem with the antenna inside.

And now physical channel 15 is back with ATSC 3.0.
