BOISE, Idaho—Evoca has launched what it says is the first over-the-air 4K UHD channel in the U.S. via its ATSC 3.0 TV service. Insight TV, which features adventure-focused programming in 4K UHD picture quality, is now available to Evoca users in Boise 24/7.

Though I'd like SD to take a look at such and perhaps allow the app to eventually play such (I have a feeling an authorization standard will eventually come out for such services and decoding), I don't believe the post follows the rules of this forum as it (currently, or at least from my understanding) has nothing to do with SD as it requires a proprietary box to confirm your subscription and decrypt the signal)

Ah, one of the paid OTA options that are basically like cable-OTA. If there's any chance we can support those kinds of services, we will try to do so, but it will take some time to find out what's possible and what the provider will allow.

I am in the Boise area.
With firmware 20201015 my HDHR5-4K detected HEVC channels v34.1 on RF34 and v34.2 on RF33.
These channels are labeled BYUKCBB and BYUKBSE.
Using HDHomeRun Config Gui on Windows 10 I can see that there are other encrypted programs on these RF channels.
The new firmware allows me to play 34.1 and 34.2 with VLC.
EDIT: I can also play these channels with HDHR apps on Nvidia Shield and LG C9 HDTV. Windows 10 had to install a software HEVC codec and it plays poorly.

QAM1024 with 11/15 code rate should be a fun reception test. Trip, do you have any way to adjust your L-R plots based on the modulation and code rate for these stations? If I'm reading this chart right, QAM1024 11/15 will require about 5-8dB more SNR than legacy ATSC or the QAM256 9/15 or 11/15 PLPs that seem to be what most broadcasters are using.

No, but you could just ignore the red part of the coverage area if you wanted to assume you need 10 dB more signal.

Something changed over the weekend.
Using firmware 20201023 a channel scan does not show any HEVC tags on the device lineup page.
RF33 and RF34 still show the program streams in the Config GUI but v34.1 and v34.2 will not play with VLC.
They were playing last week.
Not sure if this is due to the broadcaster making changes or the firmware.
