I work at a TV station (not in Detroit) and I can say that most stations are going to settle into the middle data rate area because some stations (like mine) suffer from being in the VHF band. If we can lower the modulation and get better reception indoors then we probably will do that instead of going with a higher data rate which is harder to get. Also, I will bet that most stations never broadcast in 4k because 4k doesn't pay the bills. Having every sub-channel in HD actually does. For those that don't know, local stations gets paid for carrying sub-channels, for airing them in HD (instead of SD), and for putting them in a higher position. For example, a dot 2 will pay more than a dot 7.

Also, after the last software update I can now get the mobile version of WMYD (120.99) with audio and video. Before the last round of updates I could never get the audio on any of the channels.

I saw the 120.99 WMYD mobile channel was added recently - what exactly is that for? It seems like a lower bitrate version that is presumably easier for mobile devices to receive, so that’s what I suspect - though do any mobile ATSC 3.0 devices actually exist?

Been using the new tuner for a few weeks now, find the ATSC 3 content very solid. Signal is very strong a bit west of Flint. Been using it with Channels DVR and the file size results are different from what was posted earlier in the thread. Recorded the same content a 1 hour show, with ATSC1 file size is 1.3mb with ATSC 3 it's 2.6mb. Personally I think the 3.0 stream looks better than 1.0 but that is subjective. I hope the next firmware will solve the lack of CC, miss that.

I consider myself to be in the "Golden Triangle". I can easily pull in Flint, Detroit and Lansing stations, have since the early days of HD back 2002 time frame. I use the Detroit stations due to better quality control, the DD feed from the Flint stations is always suspect, never sounds right. With all the feeds running on Ch 31 it's great to get WJBK, missing for me since I'm using a UHF only antenna, is there a time frame for them to separate?

What is "sfi"?

Is there a "manual" on what each of those "codes/short hands" are for the PLP0/1 options?

Also cool for Windows. I thought the API only worked that way in Linux.

Hello,
I am in N/W Toledo/Sylvania, OH @ 41.7, -83.6,
HDHR5-4K, Firmware: 20210404beta1 - 28 channels
HDVR-2US-1TB, Firmware: 20210404beta1 - 74 channels

I am unsure which tower(s) the HEVC signals are originating from.
CH 120 the only one I am receiving solidly is 56.6mi distant @ 24deg
Marathon Antenna is mounted at 35' and facing 25deg

Here is what I am getting:
Program5: 102.1 WMYD-MO
SS: bounces between 64-66%, Signal Q: bounces between 26-79% Sym: bounces between 100- 0%
Unable to play channel: No Video Data

Program4: 104.1 WDIV (no data)
SS: bounces between 63-65%, Signal Q: bounces between 17-70% Sym: bounces between 100- 0%
Unable to play channel: No Video Data

Program3: 107.1 WXYZ (no data)
SS: bounces between 64-65%, Signal Q: bounces between 28-78% Sym: bounces between 100- 0%
Unable to play channel: No Video Data

Program2: 120.1 WMYD-MO
SS: bounces between 61-65%, Signal Q: bounces between 62-76% Sym: 100% SOLID
atsc3:575000000, PLP0 quam 16, 1.32 to 2.07 Mbps, Picture and Audio on Win10 is perfect
0: sfi=0 mod=quam 16 cod=7/15 layer=core ti=hti lls=1 lock-1
PLP1 No Lock

Program6: 162.1 WWJ (no data)
SS: bounces between 62-63%, Signal Q: bounces between 24-76% Sym: bounces between 100- 0%
Unable to play channel: No Video Data

Program 20.1 WMYH-HD (Tuned with HDVR-2US-1TB)
SS: 68-70%, Signal Q: bounce between 42-54% Sym: bounce between 100 - 32%
When Signal drops below 50% --> Sym =0% and video pixilates and audio stutters
8vsb:539000000, 3.60 to 6.95Mbps

So ... YES the HDHR5-4k does tune in the HEVC signals better than the HDVR-2US-1TB tunes in the ATSC channels and at a much lower Network Data rate!

Prior to the last Beta update, I was able to discover and tune all 74 channels+ on the HDHR5-4k ... now only 28 channels including the HEVC channels.

Last I checked, all the HEVC channels are broadcast from TV20's tower on channel 31. TV20's ATSC 1.0 channel is broadcast by WXYZ's tower (Channel 7).

I'm north of the towers by a considerable amount. Yesterday morning I only had playable signal on 120.1 & 120.99, but then I started receiving the other stations again last night.

I do not have a DVR. My Connect 4K is using the 20210224 firmware. My signal strength on channel 31 stations is about 64%

Interesting, I have not seen 120.99 in my scan list since the last Beta update.
