Legacy Device Support

Post by TBlankenheim » Sat Apr 20, 2019 8:50 pm

Does the new UI still support legacy devices, specifically a HDHR3-US, in a Live TV mode?

I am not expecting DVR support, but it is nice to be able to view OTA channels from my HDHR3-US.

Currently the Windows 10 app is Unable to play channel. when attempting to tune an OTA channel from the HDHR3-US. I can view HDHomeRun Prime channels.

The Android TV app gets the following error when I go to Live option if my HDHR3-US is on the network. Unable to view any channels.

Code: Select all

TypeError: Cannot read property 'GuideName' of undefined

If you have a DVR app did you try recycling it? I ran into a similar issue, which seemed to be caused using the new UI by placing an X to exclude a channel in the channel list in http://my.hdhomerun.com/ and then to workaround the issue I either removed the X OR I recycled the HDHR DVR app on my WD mycloud NAS to pick up the change.

The problem seems repeatable also if I specify an X on a channel, but at least I know to get around it.

New UI update should fix operation with legacy devices.

Note that you may need to restart the app 3 times on Android for it to pick up the UI update.
