Streaming is overrated and often not as convenient as you make it sound. That said, I wish SDs interface wasn't so inspired by streaming apps.

I would suggest just closing this forum until there is anything new to announce. It's pointless when most posts are removed and it just makes the company look worse.

It's too bad these moderators consider people "whining" about the Prime 6, which was announced as coming over 2 years ago, and remove their comments or worse ban them for describing frustrations at not seeing the product Silicon Dust keeps hyping but are failing for over 2 years to produce. Removing and banning people for commenting on this speaks volumes on how much Silicon Dust seems to value their loyal customers concerns.

jmcguire525 has been trolling for a while, and started attacking moderators personally, then posted a picture of the Chinese flag with the Silicondust logo edited in. Expressing frustration is fine, but a line of unacceptable behavior was crossed.

I have two of the HomeRun Prime connected to Plex. Runs just like the 6 will run. Only difference is that I need two cable cards, so an extra $10 per month from Comcrap!

Yea, Chinese flag would be a bit much, didn't see that as you took it down swiftly and rightfully so. I've had mine edited as well though and they were not about a Chinese flag, only on the Prime 6 issues. Wish we could get a definite on this Prime 6 even still coming out, and some details if so on what the delays are, it's been a very long time coming. Years now. We wouldn't be so passionate about getting answers if we didn't love the tuners that Silicon Dust puts out. Just hope they still love the cablecard market back.

I think I will believe it when one of the big ones talks openly about it. I know that smaller players are having a hard time and are moving subscribers to streaming, shifting to being only internet access providers. But until it happens to Comcast, Charter, etc. it seems hype. It could happen eventually, but not yet.

One thing I have noticed while staying at home is just how limited the HDHomeRun Prime is ... Comcast has lots of free stuff on demand but you cannot use the DVR software to watch it. Instead I am using the Roku device to watch all my on demand shows.

Perhaps to you. BUt since i have dumped cable, and use "streaming" apps for TV (Philo) along with Channels DVR that support my OTA Quatro for OTA locals and TVE....it is far better and cheap. just as convenient as most all channels i watch is in one app. only a few networks, A&E and Nick i use the Philo app for and even then, the few shows are saved in the could DVR and are just there to watch. along with VOD things.

That on other hand is true it was never build to work with demand shows as it would req to used Comcast STB Interface in order to access it which apply any cable or satellite system

The quality is so much better streaming Comcast then the quality coming from the Prime.... Comcast Cable TV is too compressed and most are 720p... it is funny the things you discover when you are forced to stay home.
