A place for people to discuss future hardware and software product news
My guess in no, they announced it as CES last year with a summer release and from what I've read they haven't gone into production yet. Nick won't give ETAs because they never meet them, I used to think it was just an issue with the software side of things on the DVR but it seems like both HW and SW have serious management issues.@nickk can you tell me/us if the Prime 6 will be out by the end of the year? Thats all I want to know.
I asked the same question yesterday and many times before about any updates on the Prime 6 in other threads... Anytime we ask about the Prime 6, they never comment or give a clue as to updates on this product that seems so promising. Last I read, they don't even have it in production yet, so why put up a product page for it? I love the hdhomerun prime i have now and as soon as the 6 is released I plan to immediately buy it. The problem is, they tell us it'll be released mid 2018 when they really have no clue as to when it will be released. Some others on the forums say us cablecard subscribers are complaining about not getting any updates, which is ridiculous. If you're in an area where OTA TV is basically non existent like I am, I need the cablecard product for more tuners. The coming soon page was a tease at this point. It really makes you wonder if they even care about us cablecard customers anymore with their premium TV service available now.come on @nickk tell us something please
I don't know if it's a coincidence or just bad luck, but after I posted my last message on this thread my DVR subscription was turned off and I had to buy a new one then uninstall and reinstall the service. That right there has me a little concerned about if I even want to stay with them anymore. Definitely not happy with this development.
I would be *astonished* if the company, even if somehow motivated to do so (if they decide your post violates the forum rules, it is "removed by moderator"), was so on top of it to be even able to quickly take such action(s). More likely your subscription just expired at the wrong time. Correlation is not causation.I don't know if it's a coincidence or just bad luck
If the change is anything like the Connect to the Connect Duo and Connect Quatro change, it's actually a whole new chipset, meaning different hardware all together.Maybe there just isn't enough demand for this product and other products have been prioritized. I dont see how it could be so technically different from the 3 channel model to account for this delay.
Think of it as the difference when the Mac went from PowerPC to Intel x86; it's a whole new chipset to work with. (Granted the changes are probably not as radical, but there is a difference, and new hardware boards need to be built, and new firmware written to interface with the new and different chips.)
they changed it so that's a plus. They could have kept it coming soon till November or December also. How is that a plus? All that means instead of in the near future, it may be November or December.they just changed Coming Soon to Coming 2019, so that a plus
They promised mid-2018 before and that meant nothing.
