Automatic payment

For some reason, SD did not deduct their payment for the month of January. Unless my memory is totally messed up (usually is), I thought my payments were automatically deducted.
First payment was
August 20, 2018 Completed $34.99 for 1 item
September 20, 2018 Completed $34.99 for 1 item
Through December 20, 2018 Completed $24.99 for 1 item

But January's payment was not deducted, and the only way I noticed was by embarrassing my self on another third party forum. I had no guide data for the Premium channels. My channel listings for the Premium channels reverted to "Demo".

Why was my payment NOT automatically deducted, so I did not lose my channels?

Why wasn't I notified that my Premium channel subscription had expired??

This sounds like it might be an issue specific to your account. Be sure to email about it, and post back here when they get it figured out.
