Last bill processed at 34.99?

Postby jasonwt1977 » Fri Jan 25, 2019 11:27 am

My account just renewed yesterday at 34.99 while last month it was only 24.99.

Was the $10.00 off only for last month?

Thanks

This article states the $10 credit will remain until the contract dispute is settled.

I just got billed for $35 also. I am becoming increasingly dissatisfied with this service. Terrible video quality, missing channels, and now billing issues. I might give this one more month and if it doesn't improve, I am out.

Think I'm in the same boat. Coupled with the total silence from SD on all these issues, things aren't looking great.

I like the Premium service due to Plex integration and having OTA channels and premium channels on one grid, but I just can't justify $34.99 for the current channel lineup. Truthfully it was a stretch considering the full lineup when you consider what competing services that can't be mentioned here offer. I'm hoping this was an oversight but if I don't get my $10 credit, I'm out.

UPDATE: My $10 credit came in this morning with a nice note from SiliconDust, so I'll hang in there for now. My 11-year-old daughter's patience for a world without HGTV is wearing thin, so I hope they're able to work something out!

SD needs to make a decision on whether to lower the price by $10 when you sign up … they are being bad-mouthed in other forums with dirty business dealings... why not just charge $24.99. Most people outside of regular forum members do not know about the process of filing a trouble ticket all they know is they are being charged $34.99.

I'm not a newb to forums. Not an imbecile (according to Mom anyway), but had to search a way to contact support by sending an email to support@silicondust.com <--- it's as easy, and just as easily missed as that. One thing SD is NOT - adept at explaining how things work when it matters most. When the entire user base (WAG) shows up on the forums - screaming bloody murder - one would think now would be the time to provide easy to understand, step by step instructions - 'cause Mom and Pop User came here for help, not more complicated gyrations.

This is just a snip of what people are saying in other forums ….

"this last stunt they pulled where they posted in their "health/status" thread that everyone would have a $10 a month credit for the missing channels - then quietly removed that message and put billing right back up to the original price - that's just dirty business to do to such a small community. They have added nothing to the service but have lost 15% of their channels, maybe more if you consider that a number of those lost channels were high value to their service."

I thought this happened to me as well, but I think their email notifications may just be screwed up. Mine renewed on 1/18 and I received two emails. The "Silicondust-HDHomerun SHOP" email showed $34.99, but the "Auto-Receipt" email showed $24.99. I checked the transactions on my card at Chase, and it was the reduced amount that actually posted.

Glad to see the lower amount come through, but would rather have the channels back and Stage 2. The silence on both topics is concerning.

They've also been busy announcing (and never actually releasing) new hardware. Like the Prime 6 - Announced over a year ago and it still has not seen the light of day. And now the Scribe and Servio have been announced, also with no solid release date. This company has SO much potential, but doesn't bother to FOCUS on one thing and see it through to completion before it moves on to the next shiny object.

I just received my last bill, also for $34.99. I hope they are processing $10 refunds just as quickly as they take our money.

to the last 2 posters, it would be nice if you read just a few posts before yours. it says open a ticket by email, gives you the email address, your forum name and the shop login are different and they don't know who you are.
