DVR Install - WD My Cloud Multi-Disk App Install

HDHomeRun DVR Record Engine for the Western Digital My Cloud multi-disk NAS boxes.
Users of single-disk My Cloud devices should install the appropriate package via the Windows install process or WD My Cloud Single-Disk Manual Install.

Requirements:
- HDHomeRun DVR subscription
- Multi-disk Western Digital My Cloud NAS (non-Home model)

Before you Get Started
You need to activate your DVR software, if you haven't already done so. Visit the Shop. Purchase the DVR Activation. When you get your receipt, it will include a link to activate your DVR. Click that link. Fill in the email address and activation code also found in your receipt. You do not need to activate more than once per household. If you need to re-activate, search your email for "Your SiliconDust SHOP order receipt" which will include any necessary links and codes.

1) Download the appropriate package for your specific model of NAS.

My Cloud EX2: Release or Beta

2) Go to the NAS webpage
This is usually available at http://wdmycloud/ or http://wdmycloud.local/. If you know the IP address of your My Cloud you can also enter that in your browser's address bar. Log in once you arrive at the page.

3) Install the software
  1. Click Apps
  2. Click Install an app manually
  3. Browse to the location where you downloaded the install package and select it
  4. Click Open
4) Verify that the software is installed
Go to http://my.hdhomerun.com and verify that HDHomeRun RECORD is displayed at the top of the page

FAQ:
Q: Why install this app?
A: Installing this app bypasses the need to run NAS INSTALL (create a share folder, enable SSH, etc), or manually setup the NAS.

Q: If the NAS loses power or reboots will the Record Engine autostart?
A: Yes.

Q: Do I need to create a Share Folder titled HDHomeRun? Where are recordings saved?
A: No, you do not. If you're setting up a brand new My Cloud, recordings will be saved to Public\HDHomeRun. If you already have an HDHomeRun folder in the ROOT of the NAS, the Record Engine will continue to use the existing folder.
