Since it's working for some and not others its a tricky thing to root out.

Here are 3 things to try
1. Restore the settings for the Web Server (just in case something is screwed up)
Control Panel -> Webserver -> Maintainence -> Restore

If that doesn't work
2. try Restoring the PHP settings
Control Panel -> Webserver -> php.ini maintainence -> Restore

And finally
3. Lets check if it's the style.css
ssh into the NAS as admin
rm /share/Web/HDHomeRunDVR/style/style.css
chmod a+w /share/Web/HDHomeRunDVR/style

falling that I'm not sure what to do.
it has to be a privilege /permissions/security issue on your local NAS and that's something I just can't help with other than above.

Good morning,

I recently used your instructions to install the app and get a blank screen when I open the app. Not sure who to get the UI to open. Any help would be greatly appreciated...

I've been unable to identify why this is happening. Not everyone is seeing the issues, and not everyone is seeing the issue on each install.
Please check through the questions at these links.. maybe something will come to light.

Also, just to check...
Are you logging in to your NAS directly, i.e. via LAN connection to it's IP or your own DNS server/hosts file?
Or are you logging in my the myqnapcloud service?

In meantime - the recommended way is to simply point your browser to the URL
http://<yournas>/HDHomeRunDVR

Right-click on the app
and choose "open in separate browser tab"

works for me :!: :!:

First off, thanks for your support, especially since I was unable to install via the supplied SD software.

I have installed the HDHomeRunDVR_0.9.25.qpkg and the DVR record engine is working, but the app within my QNAP TS-451 is coming up blank. It temporarily displays the tabs at the top (almost opaque), but once I click on the window it turns white. I did verify that my Webserver is active and I'm currently running 4.3.3.0378 firmware. I'm not sure how critical opening the app in QNAP is as long as my DVR functionality works, but figured it might be useful. Let me know if I can provide any other information.

Thanks

Happens on some folks installs, but not all.. but does appear to be happening more and more..
The workaround is to simply browser directly to it.. e.g. if your NAS is on say 192.168.0.100 then navigate to 192.168.0.100/HDHomeRunDVR

Since it works via the direct link and not via QTS it must be something in QTS preventing a page from being viewed... I just can't seem to work it out - mostly because it works for me.

This was easy. Thanks for the quick response.

Just wanted to write a quick note to show my gratitude for spending time to create this installer.

It's working great! Thanks!

Hi,

First time user on intel qnap - 9.28 installs properly, but I get an unhappy face in QTS.

When I go to the direct link I get an error saying he web server is not currently available.

Did this (RTFM to me)

No Web UI
Some have reported that the UI doesn't open. This is usually because the web server has been disabled, and you will need to enable it.
This can be found under 'Control Panel' -> 'Applications' -> 'Web Server'

It took a reboot to make the direct link 192.168.X.X/HDHomeRunDVR make work. The QTS direct link is still unhappy.

working on migration now.....

No /share/Multimedia/HDHomeRunDVR was created.... hmmm
Also the start/stop/restart links come an go randomly? Good news the buttons seem to work :-)

migration done - I do not believe it created a new share in the multimedia/HDHomeRunDVR folder or I could not find it? I do not have a multimedia folder.... Anyway I wanted them in my original /share/HDHomeRun folder. I changed the recording path and things came right up. So far so good.
