Video freezing continues with latest 0604 Android App

But only on Chromecast with Google TV. Other devices work just fine. This time, AC3 on or off makes no difference.

Live TV. Freezing happens when you change channels.

Also found out that Android app on my pixel phone and Samsung tablet no longer plays DRM channels.

Can you please turn on "send diagnostic information" from the app Settings menu.

I am also getting the "content protection error" trying to play DRM channels on my Shield Pro 2017 with the 20210604 (app) release.

Done. After I turned on diagnostics, I tried tuning GSN, channel 302, which is DRM'd for me. It threw the error and, after a few seconds, sent me to the "Settings" screen.

Done. My error is 'end of video stream'. CH 617, 618 are DRM channels on FIOS.

leerandall - can you please exit the app, then run it again and select a DRM channel.

foxbat121 - looks like you are seeing a different situation, possibly related to sw video decode. I will set up a test here.

Both devices work fine with DRM in the past although I don't use them to watch TV often.

Problem found and fixed. Problem was specific to devices that don't support hardware MPEG2 decode.

leerandall - this is not the problem you are seeing - can you please exit the app, then run it again and select a DRM channel.

After doing what you asked, it will now tune DRM channels. What caused the app to disallow DRM prior to stopping the app and re-starting it?

Hmmm... possibly a problem with HDCP at the time you first tried a DRM channel. Or possibly it had to renew the license and the renew glitched.
Either way, restarting the app means it tries again.
