And it's become literally unwatchable since the last update of the app (210707 or something). I'm fed up using VLC with no EPG and horrible UI. Please do something, and if necessary I can give you more info or anything else.
Does it play smoothly if you pause for a few seconds then let it resume playing?

Yes it does (some mini stutters sometimes but much less frequent). I don't know if it's your fix or if it's to understand better the pb, but I want to precise that of course I want to watch live TV, not live TV with 5 seconds delay.

Test - try pausing for a few seconds then resuming playback.

Thanks for reply. I just Tested.

I will admit it helps but there are still random stutters that I'm not sure why are happening. Tested CNN with the ticker on bottom, which is a great way to see these microstutters.

After doing the 5 second pause, instead of every second, now it's more random but still at every 5-7 seconds. Some are not micro stutters, but more jarring. Tested the same scenario using google Live TV channels beta tuner and also Plex live TV and no stutter.

Not sure if I already stated it, but when I watch live TV through Kodi HD Homerun add-on there is no stuttering. Not sure if that is developed in-house or unofficially by other programmers?

Just did it for testing/troubleshooting purposes but the Kodi HD Homerun App runs butter smooth on my Shield and even mobile devices.

We will have a beta release out on Monday that uses frame scheduling when hardware acceleration is used.
