UI issue - ver. 20210326b

Post by leerandall »

I'm unsure if this issue began with UI ver. 20210326b, but I've had it happen to me twice in the last week, and it seems repeatable. On my Win10 desktop, if I'm watching live TV and put it on pause for more than a half hour, when I'm fast forwarding through commercials to catch up with current time, I cannot fast forward past a half hour before the current time. For example, tonight, I had paused for about 45 minutes. At 10:28 current time, I could not fast-forward past 9:58. Since I couldn't get past 9:58 to watch the remainder of the pause buffer, I had to change channels then change back to the channel I was watching to get back to live tv, causing me to miss a half hour (9:58 to 10:28) of the paused program.

How often does this happen? I tried to reproduce it just now, but wasn't able to, but it was only one try.

Though NedS may have checked, do you have the DVR engine installed/discovered as that is used for the live buffer (assuming no drm). DRM protected channels and those without DVR such buffer uses ram. When most things seemed to go through my scribe with virtually no space left I also would experience such with much longer times when such filled up.

NedS - No, it doesn't happen often, but I realized after I started this thread, when it happened a second time last night, that both times it happened last night involved pausing over a program ending/beginning transition (typically on the hour or half-hour). Meaning, the second time it happened last night, I had paused at about 11:26pm and resumed playback at about 11:34. I then tried to fast forward to catch up to live TV at 11:34, but couldn't FF past 11:30. So I had to, again, change channels, then change back to the original channel to get back to live TV.

signcarver - The DVR is on my QNAP NAS and working fine.

This happened again tonight. And one thing I forgot to mention in my original post: When I cannot fast-forward, the delayed program will continue to play. I just cannot FF any longer, even though I can continue to play the delayed program.
