Mac Big Sur Install Failure

I mentioned this in the thread on "can't delete tasks", but I thought it deserved its own topic.

I run the 20201030 installer package on my 2014 Mac mini and always get an installation failed message. I am trying to install the DVR portion, but choose both.

I have also tried installing with Pacifist and afterwards rant Pacifist's "verify". Here is the log:

I was so excited to see a new BETA version for Mac 20210103

But the DVR portion stills gives me a failed installation notice.

Anyway, the installer shows a window which, in the summary, reports:

An error occurred during installation.

Then below a yellow triangle with a ! inside

The installer encountered an error that caused the installation to fail. Contact the software manufacturer for assistance.

Update: The new beta 20210105 still fails.

I found an issue with the DVR installation script and sent the info to Nick. Looks like Apple might have changed some things behind the scenes and it invalidated something the script was doing to create the account the DVR runs under.

If it was Apple's fault in Big Sur, it has not been fixed in the new 11.2 beta I installed today. 11.2 Beta (20D5042d)

Using HD HOMERUN Beta 20210105, which appears to be the latest.

I just downloaded Mac Beta Install 20210118. Install DVR still fails.
