Aspect Ratio

How do I change the aspect ratio of a live channel? I have SD cable broadcast that are cutting off because they are broadcasting it in 16:9 not 4:3. But it is showing in 4:3 because it is standard.

The HDHomeRun app will display with the aspect ratio specified by the video.
16:9 SD is quite common and will be displayed in a 16:9 aspect.

It sounds like the video is incorrectly identifing itself as 4:3. This is something we can check...

Please go into the settings menu in the app and turn on Send diagnostic information, tune the problem channel, then reply back with the Device ID of your HDHomeRun and the channel number.

The log shows channel 18.1 identifies itself as MPEG2 with a 704x480 pixel resolution and a 4:3 aspect ratio.

Can you please post a screenshot from this channel...

How do i post an image? Is there an upload button I am missing?Image

Just a thought, it does not appear you have the plugin enabled for bbpress. I use this one.

The screenshots looks to be correct - the video content looks to have a 4:3 and there are black bars left+right due to the screen being wider than 4:3.
