My brother is having a major issue with his HDHomerun Connect Duo tuner software. He's getting the error code mf_media_engine_err_decode : hresult - 0xC00D3E84 when trying to play live video from the tuner. I think this is happening when using the DVR function as well. He's using Win10 and has subscribed to the SiliconDust's DVR service.
Any advice from anyone on this specific code?
Thanks.

Re: Error code 0xC00D3E84
The video player seems to think the video stream has ended or something like that. Google says it's a Windows media error that means "The media stream cannot process any more samples because there are no more samples in the stream". I will ask the dev team about it.
Re: Error code 0xC00D3E84
I appreciate the effort, NedS. Both of us have really been trying to figure this one out. There's not a lot of info on this specific BSOD code. I've come across a few things to try, from the Windows app checker, to using the troubleshooting feature in Win10, to video driver issues. We're basically at a loss right now. We were going to do a "reset my PC" if all else fails, but I really hope it's just some minor tweak or setting we've overlooked. He's been using the HDHomerun tuner for a few years now with no problem and had subscribed to the DVR service sometime last year. He's going to become a full time cord cutter soon and is trying to get everything shipshape before pulling the plug on AT&T. The issue started a couple of days ago.

Any update on this?
Getting same error more and more frequently.
Like the OP I'm using a win10 computer as well.

Re: Error code 0xC00D3E84
These codes basically mean "video ran out of data" or "unable to play", etc, so it's possible to see the same or a similar code, but for different reasons. The most common cause to see the error seems to be network issues (at least that I've seen), so that would be the first point to check. If you're on wifi, try a temporary wired ethernet connection, or moving things closer to the router. You can also test to see if VLC media player has any issues playing back live TV, to see if maybe it is the HDHomeRun app, and not the network connection.
You can also test for packet loss and reply back with the results: https://info.hdhomerun.com/info/trouble ... _-_windows

Re: Error code 0xC00D3E84
I performed the steps in the network packet tests and no losses packets in over an hour. Still getting the error code in live tv.
I need to try the vlc test. I also have a managed switch coming in so I can try and isolate some of my network devices.

Re: Error code 0xC00D3E84
I tested for the issue on a win10 laptop I have on wireless connection and I got the error in 15 mins of watching a local channel. I opened the same channel on VLC and let it run for over an hour with no error.
I still want to verify my network with vlans to ensure I don't have too much traffic.
I have a hardwired gigabit network with only 1 poe camera and a wireless doorbell camera, both recording 24/7.
Just remembered to add, none of my recorded shows have this error in them. It's only live shows.
