App Version 20200518 (App) Audio dropping out

I am not sure what is going on but since the release today and upgrading to it the audio is dropping out completely when a program goes it a commercial break. I have been watching MSNBC and the live program in fine goes to commercial and it drops the audio, if I change channels and come back the channel then the audio returns. Also, not just during commercial breaks. It appears to be randomly dropping out. I change the channel and it comes back.

You may wish to mention provider and device you are seeing such on and how you listen to the audio (i.e. using passthrough and if an AVR involved)... this release gave me a big improvement across many devices (shield, jetstream, verizon, ****) in that the video no longer stutters and I have no sound issues.

I've had the issue since today's update, as well. I'm watching it on an Xbox One S, and using Mediacom with Cable Card/Prime Tuner. I haven't tried/tested it on the computer app, so I don't know if it's affecting it there, as well.

Was audio in sync with video before audio stopped?

Please turn on "send diagnostic information" in the app and post your Device ID... I will dig into it.

App update has been submitted to the Windows app store. Give it about an hour or so.

The problem is specific to AC3 passthrough mode.

I think the audio was in sync. That being said, I'm honestly not sure on how to turn that on and send the Device ID in the Xbox One S version of the app. I'm assuming the "fix" will work with even the Xbox One App Version, but I don't know. I'm also posting despite you saying a fix had been found/issued due to not using the Windows 10 Computer Version of the app, and I don't know whether there are any differences between those two versions of the app.

Hi, Nick

The problem is not fixed. I am still getting audio drop outs and I updated to the new app this morning. I am using the app on a machine running Windows 10.

Can you please turn on "Send diagnostic information" in the HDHomeRun app settings menu, then reproduce the problem.

I have done that for you. The problem just happened at about 11:59AM. I'll let it play a few more mins so you can't get the information you need, hopefully.

I also sent the some data up. In my case, I didn't wait long enough for it to happen but change of channels cause couple crashes, End of stream error and media decoding error messages. But this morning, I left it play for about half hour and ended up with no audio at all.

Jackamus - the log from your system shows the new audio handling hitting a limit it shouldn't be reaching. We are investigating.

foxbat121 - the log from your system shows communication errors, not related to the new audio handling.
