HDHomeRun Windows 10 App not downloading

Post by wellywu » Fri Mar 13, 2020 3:31 pm

I own a mid-2017 ASUS ROG STRIX GL702ZC gaming notebook PC running a freshly installed Microsoft Windows 10 64 bit version 1909 desktop operating system with all of the updates installed and applied.

I opened the Microsoft Store to download the Silicondust HDHomeRun Windows 10 app and it won't download. It gets stuck at downloading. This is with my second Microsoft account. My primary Microsoft account downloaded and installed the HDHomeRun Windows 10 app just fine. My secondary Microsoft account won't let me do this.

What technical information do you need from me? How do I solve this problem?

Do other apps download from the Microsoft Store?

Close the Store, open the Start menu, type in wsreset and hit enter. After that finishes (should take no more than a few seconds) open the store and try again.

I followed your instructions exactly. It still did not download and install the Silicondust HDHomeRun Windows 10 app. When it says that it is downloading, nothing happens. There is no indicator of the download speed and the app does not download and install. The WSReset.exe command worked after several seconds and it reloaded the Microsoft Store. Now what?

Log out of the account and see if it will install when not logged in. It will prompt if you want to log in, just click No to that.

It won't let me download the app without logging into a Microsoft account. I logged into both Microsoft accounts and it won't download. Now what? Do I need to contact Microsoft Corporation? Where do I ask?

The Windows Store will let you install any free app without logging in to an account. You just have to click "No" when it asks if you want to log in.

Image

I do not see the option to click the no button in the shared image that I snipped. Treat me like an idiot and explain how I can get this app installed. Thanks.

Microsoft must have changed the process of downloading and installing Windows 10 free apps on version 1909. There is no button to click no in order to not sign into a Microsoft account in order to download and install free Windows 10 apps anymore. Now what? Why is this not working?

Is there any way to download your store app and side load it?

Enable sideloading in the Developer Options in Windows settings and then install the HDHomeRun software for Windows from https://www.silicondust.com/support/downloads/ and it will sideload the app.

I need the Silicondust HDHomeRun for Windows 10 app; I already installed the Silicondust for Windows desktop app and I configured my HDHomeRun Setup just fine. For some unknown reason, the Silicondust HDHomeRun for Windows 10 app won't download at all. I just downloaded and installed the Spotify Music for Windows 10 app from the Microsoft Store on my ASUS GL702ZC gaming notebook PC just fine. It launched just fine as well. Is there a reason why the Silicondust HDHomeRun for Windows 10 app won't download and install at all?

On my mid-2017 AVA Direct gaming desktop PC and mid-2018 Huawei Matebook X Pro ultrabook, I logged into my second Microsoft account just fine and I opened the Microsoft Store and I successfully downloaded and installed the Silicondust HDHomeRun for Windows 10 app just fine and I can watch free over the air live television at my apartment without technical issues. So, my mid-2017 ASUS GL702ZC was able to download and install the Silicondust HDHomeRun for Windows 10 app using my primary Microsoft account which is set as an administrator account just fine, but the second Microsoft account on this same laptop won't download and install. That is where I am at right now. What are my other options?

I get an error code when trying to download the app: code: 0x80073CFB

I looked it up and I found this suggestion:

1. https://windowsreport.com/windows-8-err ... ows-store/

It tells me to delete the Windows 10 software distribution folder

I found this article on how to do it:

2. https://www.thewindowsclub.com/software ... in-windows

Should I give it a try?
