I'm trying to determine why I'm getting partial recordings. Is there anywhere that the actual contents of a typical log file are documented ?

We don't have documentation for that yet. I plan on putting together a more in-depth troubleshooting guide for users and that will be part of it.

The Windows PC that you have installed the DVR software on, is it set to go to sleep or shut down after a period of time? The diagnostics for your DVR account show the software going offline for various stretches of time through out the day.
