DRM DVR recordings are no longer accessable on Windows 10

Post by realtimecat » Sun Feb 02, 2020 9:39 pm

Since the October Windows 10 update my DVR capability on HDHomeRun no longer appears to record when encountering broadcasts with DRM. In addition, I am no longer able to play back any of my recordings that contained DRM.

I currently am attempting to get rid of my cable company DVR. Unfortunately my cable provider (Spectrum) has most of our channels other than the standard broadcast over the air channels as DRM, including, for example SyFy (which I do want to be able to record from) and BBC.

Is there any solution I can currently utilize to provide DRM capable DVR recording and playback with my HDHomeRun Prime?

The only system that can record DRM flagged channels is Windows Media Center. Hopefully HDHR DVR will soon, but currently SD has not given an ETA on that other than that they are working on it and will make it available as soon as they can.
