Content Protection Error

Post by Stargazeroh » Sun Jan 26, 2020 2:04 pm

Hello Everyone,

Not sure if this is a Windows 10 Update issue or a HDHomerun app issue, but after installing Windows updates and rebooting, I now get 'Content Protection Errors' when viewing any DRM protected channels.

I verified that I have the latest video drives for my GTX970, Nvidia Control panel says both monitors support HDCP and its enabled. Tried using one monitor with the same results.

HDHomerun App 20191209 / 20200124b UI
Windows 10 Pro 1909

Also verified that I could play DVDs and Blu-Rays with PowerDVD 16, I believe Blu-Rays require HDCP to be enabled.

Any thoughts?

Try uninstalling and reinstalling the app from the Windows Store.

Hello Jasonl,

I guess I should have tried that, but is seemed like a weird error to start getting all of a sudden.

Removing and re-installed DID resolve the issue.

Any thoughts on what happened?

Thanks!!

If the DRM keys stored on the PC get invalidated for some reason, that error will happen. Uninstalling and reinstalling generates new keys.
