No guide data at all - leop

Post by leop » Fri Aug 30, 2019 3:15 pm

I am also currently missing the guide info for many of the channels. This was not true in the past. I use a Prime HDHR3-CC with a cablecard to connect to the local Comcast cable system. Comcast has a single Comcast program on several of the cable channels. For example, ESPN (standard definition) is on 26 and 506. Channel 26 has the guide data but 506 does not. The Comet network is on channel 111 in standard definition. There is no high definition comet channel. However, the standard definition Comet channel is also on the HD tier at channel 1190. Channel 111 shows the guide data but channel 1190 has no guide data. Channel 111 is at 333.0 MHz, program 6, while channel 1190 is at 291.0 MHz, program 5. So, the physical cable channels are distinct. I would expect the guide to have data for each channel, but I guess that the current guide may be attempting efficiency at the expense of completeness and usability.

The guide is not quite fixed yet. For the repeat programming on different physical and virtual channels, the guide is fixed. However, sometimes a cable provider like Comcast will put the same physical channel on two virtual channels. In this case, the guide only shows data for one of the virtual channels. For my Comcast provider, the MeTV programming (standard definition) is on virtual channels 510 and 1183 (the HD tier but displaying SD). Both are the same physical channel, 291.0 MHZ, program #4. The guide shows data for virtual channel 510 but not for 1183.

I split your posts to a new thread as the problem you are describing doesn't related to the problem in the original thread which was fixed.

I can check your channel list - what is the Device ID of your HDHomeRun?

131426FE . I have temporarily turned on the send diagnostic data, too.

The channel list shows everything but the guide data is missing in the case(s) mentioned. The channels also can be viewed (with no guide data).

Thanks, LP

Thanks. There are other similar dual virtual channels on the same frequency and program number. I will compile a list and get back to you. LP
